I like how you convert your images to B/W. The image leads me to the ship leaving the port which is nicely done. The use of an ND filter in such cold weather really worked! The silky and soft feel of the image makes it feel like winter. Very nice image. |

Diane, nicely composed image. Good job with slowing the water at the rapids during the day. You may have been able to slow it down even more as I believe the R6 has a Low ISO mode especially which is helpful if you're in bright light without a ND filter. As previously noted by the others, the color and exposure are overdone but you have a great original image to work with. |

Love the mural and all the color in the image. Definitely makes me feel like I want to be there. You did a good job with keeping it fairly sharp at 1/12 sec. Typically when I do street photography I have my platypod with me. However most newer cameras do great job with a high ISO so you can get a faster shutter speed which is perfect for situations like this one. I like the complimentary red color of the ladies jacket and the seat covers. The blurred people in the right corner along with the fire hydrant makes me think it was a photo of opportunity and the aim was to just capture a spontaneous moment. However placing a moving person in the left third of the frame may have suggested a relationship between person and the background making it more effective. Nice job. |

I was going to say the same thing as Larry...LA's missing its traffic. I like how the expressway crosses diagonally to the horizon line. My only suggestion is to make it more pronounced by cropping out the right side to create a stronger focal point with the highway and the round Holiday Inn. |

Thanks for your comments Diane. I'm very careful when cropping landscape photos as it changes the context of the image but I always consider comments from the critique. Much appreciated. |

Thanks for your comments Adi. I believe I used my 24-105 lens and the 70mm was a medium focal range that allowed me to capture the area intended and angle of view. |

Totally agree with you and Diane. LR has vastly improved its editing tools and the gradient tools are the best.

My biggest fear would be exposing my camera to those strong sandy wind gusts! The blowing grass and sand shows the intensity of the wind nicely. The grayed out sky is to be expected in these conditions but it doesn't seem to complement the scene. I like the crop as is because it allows me to see the blowing grass. As Larry mentioned sky replacement is something to consider. It may require a bit of work to acquire a natural stormy feel to the image but its definitely worth it. |

Very cool image. The art of sand sculpture always amazed me. The detail provided by the artists makes the sculpture a true work of art. Too bad they don't last forever!
I like how you captured the foreground to allow the sand structure to be visable. The image is well composed and balanced with the trees in the background. |

Thanks Mary. Yes, the crop seemed to be my only choice for enhancing the subjects. Thanks for your comments. |

Its always fun to do something creative which I love to do. I would love to see the pdf file as I'm always looking for new techniques. I also like how the cat's tag matches the rug. Well done. |

Beautiful horses, beautiful image. I actually like the crop you chose as it adds more to the story for me. The muted colors work well also. Looking closer at the image was there cloning done between the horses? |

Adrian, it's a stunning mountain location and the addition of the cabin and the colorful sky adds a nice touch to the mountain scene. I like the richness of the mountains in the original image. The image has good foreground, middle, and background. The amount of detail in the shadows and saturation makes the scene feel a bit unnatural to me. I do like Maria's adjustments. Beautiful scene. |

I've looked at this image for several days and initially thought the left side was a bit heavy but the sunset balances it out. My eye runs through the entire image and lands at the sunset. Landscape images typically exclude people in order to focus more on the beauty of the scene. However having the human element provides a nice story to this image. Brightening the people and the bridge a bit would be my only suggestion. I like the crop as is and great PSA article! |

Simple yet beautiful image. I was out photographing mallards the other day and the water in the lake was brown from a recent rain storm. Nice to see the blue color of the water as it compliments the duck's colors. The trail adds nice texture to the image and it's nicely composed. |

I'm not very knowledgeable about horse body language but it's definitely clear the horse with the kicked out leg is sending a message. The other horse's ears are slightly pinned back saying leave me alone! The connection between the two horses and the simple background make this shot work nicely. Good choice to make it black and white.
