36 Nov 22 Reply Thank you Dhananjay! I'm trying to remember if I used a filter or not. I always bring my 10 stop ND filter or a graduated filter when doing sunsets but honestly can't remember if I used it for this photo. Knowing me I probably did. Nov 18th

36 Nov 22 Reply Thanks for your feedback Larry. And no, it's not framed yet lol. Nov 14th
36 Nov 22 Comment I love that you took the image while crossing the street! Congestion is just about everywhere but the inclusion of the buildings on both sides adds a nice touch to the image. The triangle and the dotted line leads my eye to the steeple and the light ray. The light ray is a nice touch but the edges are a bit too defined for me. Maybe more feathering? Although I like color in street photography I wonder if this image would be more powerful in black and white. Nov 14th
36 Nov 22 Comment This is a beautiful location to sit and sip wine. I like how the sun is diffused providing a the soft glow on the foreground rocks. The reflection in the water adds a nice tranquil effect to the scene. For me it's a touch too cool and as Michael mentioned the lake reflection is warmer than the sky. Regarding the trees, I prefer the original composition for the purpose of balance. The placement of the trees in the original gives me a clearer understanding of where the center of interest lies in the image. Nov 14th
36 Nov 22 Comment I'm a big fan of long exposures and you did this one quite well. When I first opened this image I left it on my screen and walked away. I do this sometimes so when I re-enter the room the image is all I see. Standing back and looking at the image, you can really appreciate how you dodged and burned the photo and how it brings your eye into the center. I wonder if a touch of contrast would help to make the textures in the buildings stand out more against the soft, smooth water. Beautiful image. Nov 13th
36 Nov 22 Comment I find it fascinating how beautiful landscape can be on its own. Something as violent as a volcano can create a beautiful crater. The cool and warm colors work great with just enough intensity to make the closeup of the crater stand out. The texture/patterns also make this a great abstract. Wonderful image. Nov 13th
36 Nov 22 Comment Great job keeping the light contained and maintaining nice highlights on the moss covered rocks. The color is rich and the composition works well - a great place to sit and meditate. I especially like the light hitting the overhanging leaves. My only thought would be to bring the shadows up a bit to see more detail but not sure if it's possible without adding too much noise. Very nice. Nov 7th

72 Nov 22 Comment I really like how you composed the image. The position of the butterfly and the flower enhance each other nicely. The soft clean background draws you eye right to the butterfly and flower. The light makes the colors pop on the butterfly and the flower. Great image. Nov 13th
72 Nov 22 Comment The tack sharp eye and body along with nice motion in the wings makes it a great capture of this fast little creature. Great body color also. Well done. Nov 13th
72 Nov 22 Reply Very cool images. Nov 13th
72 Nov 22 Comment Very nice image of the clouds and mountains. I like the vantage point as it looks like a wonderful summit view after a long hike up the mountain. Nov 13th
72 Nov 22 Reply Thanks Adrian. Looking back at my other images from that day, it was a bright but overcast day. I remember being happy because there were no harsh shadows or bright highlights. Nov 13th
72 Nov 22 Reply Thank you Maria. Nov 13th
72 Nov 22 Reply Thank you Isaac. I was lucky to be in the best location when the calf started to feed.
Adding the touch of darkness definitely makes the animals pop.

72 Nov 22 Comment I have taken hundreds of photos of anhingas while living in southeastern US but nothing with such a powerful expression. Beautiful image. The composition is strong and allows the bird some space between the beak and the edge of the frame. The bird is sharp and background is nicely blurred giving full focus to the bird. I also like the kiss of light on the beak and the feathers. Very nice image. Nov 6th
72 Nov 22 Comment Beautiful bird. Very nice composition on the perch and good focus on the eyes. The colors pop nicely and the blurred backgrounds make the bird stand out. Overall the image is a tad on the dark side for me but the soft light on the head and the backlight on the beak makes it work. Well done.
