Thanks everyone for your comments. This image was basically " a jump out of the car and take the shot" kind of image. No planned light painting was done as light came from cars passing on the road. I agree about the moon and I have other images without it, so looking back they may work out better. Also I appreciate your comments about the brightness and will look at the image differently. |

Welcome to the group! I never edited in duotones but I like the effect you created with the warm and cool tones. It works nicely with this cityscape. The dynamic flowing clouds and the soft water against the sharp buildings makes the image pop. I also agree with Larry's comments about the hot spots and Michael's comments about space on the right side to balance with the left. Very nice image. |

The super simple composition is a strong part of this image. In looking at your original image the water is darker than the sky however in the BW image it's lighter. Suggest reducing the brightness of the water. I like the image in BW and like the how the path leads you into the image. I also agree about the branches in the left upper corner. Well presented image. |

When I read your story I was smiling because I feel the same way about my R5. I use my 5d Mark iv in bad weather. I love the intensity of the waves and actually like the beachy neutral, muted tones in the image. I agree with everyone about the poles being cut off. You can either remove them as suggested by Arne or you can add the poles from your other photo to this photo by either cut/paste, layer/mask. It could be a bit of work but also worth it. |

Very nice image and amazing planning. I like the use of warm and cool colors and I'm drawn to the wide view as it gives me a sense of calm. I like how the wooden path leads you in to the main subject and how the clouds accent the subject.
I, like Arne, would crop in from the right. Or, 16:9 crop. For me the square crop feels tight. |

Great shot of this woodpecker! I tried to photograph one in Florida and I think I only got 2 out of 30 images sharp because of the moving head. When I first looked at the image the background didn't distract me from the colors of the bird however I think the changes made by Bruce make the woodpecker pop. Nice job. |

I can imagine the challenge to photograph birds under a canopy of trees with so much bright light coming from the background. As I don't photograph birds often can you use a flash extender to help with the lighting the bird? The long tail is beautiful along with the feather colors. Very nice. |

Thanks everyone for your comments. Should I only submit photos without
man-made items for this group? Your guidance and advice is appreciated. |

I've never been to Costa Rica so for me I actually like the original as it tells more of a story. I would recommend keeping some of the jungle as mentioned by Randy. It gives it a better feel for the snake's environment. I also like the soft light that's on the snake and just below. |

Such a beautiful bird. I especially like the positioning of the feet and wings and the extended neck adds a graceful look to the bird. Very nice. |

I like the egret's expression how he/she assumed a particular attitude/position in order to be photographed. The blurred background makes the egret stand out. I also like the tighter crop. |

At first I wasn't sure what it was but looking close...what a great capture. The photo tells the story! Cropping was a good choice and I also like the one with the open mouth. |
