Thank you Michael. I do have a few images with the full tree and space above the mill. Looking back at them, the sky was white/blown out so I decided to eliminate it. But I agree it has a total different look with the tree tops visible, more sense of place.
I think a road trip is needed! |

Thanks for your feedback Richard. Our group was probably there for about 3 hours. I remember taking a lot of images from several locations before I ended up in the spot where this image was taken. Looking back at my files I only have images from this spot as I probably culled the others out. This image was taken close to 9am so many photographers were done by then so I just had to wait out the typical tourist wandering around the mill. I have both horizontal and vertical shots and many have people in them.

Larry, you're absolutely right about the reflections and mill roof being too bright. Appreciate the feedback. |

Mother nature at it's best. The drama of the clouds and the hard light hitting the canyon works. My only suggestion is to brighten the left side so the roads stand out a bit more. Nice image. |

I really like the lines and shape of the roof tops. When I first looked at this image the roof tops and mountain stood out. I like how the light is coming through the clouds and although it's a tad bright it works ok for me. I would have liked to see more dodging on the mountain ridges to make the mountain stand out more. For me I think this image could work in a square format filling the frame with just the mountain, roof tops and sun rays. Nice job. |

These are amazing trees and the composition told the story you wanted to tell. I think the lighting helps the scene by showing all the detail. I can't help but wonder how beautiful these trees would look with a stormy sky. Nicely done. |

The composition tells the story. I like how you edited this image with the light from the sky onto the boat. Great image. |

Another great location and beautiful image. The use of the driftwood as a foreground element adds interest to the scene along with the smooth water. The lighting is soft and the colors compliment each other. My only thought is the orientation. I like the horizontal orientation but to me there's a lot of empty space in the water. I wonder if shooting vertical or by bringing the camera down to get more of the shoreline was an option. |
