I love the Cali coastline and always try to brake for photos! The combination of colors, the rugged coastline, and the grass as the main event show the character of this beautiful state. I think you succeeded in telling your story. Very nice image. |

I have never been to Ireland but the photos I've seen in this group have been beautiful. For me, when I look at the image, I feel like I need more of the monastery to really appreciate it's beauty. I can see this was a challenging lighting situation for which exposure bracketing may have helped to capture the best range of values for this image. Still, I do like how the tower is wrapped by the trees. Overall, you did a great job with editing to bring out the shadows and brighten the image.

I actually like the original and the cropped version. In the original I like the icy water coming off the glacier and the color of the sky against the ice. It would look nice with a panoramic crop. For the cropped version I agree the glacier has nice detail especially being heavily cropped. I also like the blue tones in the ice. Nice job. |

Thanks Arne. Typically I use the graduated filter to tone down the background however in this image I used the filter to tone down the foreground and use a slower shutter speed. I did add a radial filter to create more of a vignette effect. Thanks for the suggestion! |

Thanks for your feedback Bill. I did lighten the moss along the shore as I thought it needed to be a bit brighter. Looking back at my image I tried a radial filter to tone down the outer edges and I do like it a bit better. Thanks for the suggestion.

You can't ask for a better sky and light. The kiss of light on the house makes it pop. I like that the image wasn't overdone and for me it evokes contentment and simplicity. Well done! |

I love your story and effort it took to getting the right shot. I like everything about this image, the water was perfectly smooth, nice lighting on the church, and good reflection. I'm sure it looks great on the church wall and bulletin. |

Thank you Michael. It was a great day for water photography. I only wish I had water boots so I could have gone in the middle of the stream. Looking closer at the image I agree about the stacking. Thanks for this feedback! |

Thanks for your feedback Larry. While I was taking this shot I did not think about stacking because it wasn't overly breezy and my main focus was the foreground and middle ground. I thought the fog/mist in the background would make the trees a bit blurry anyway so I focused my lens at hyperlocal distance using my depth of field app. I agree with your comment about stacking. If I had done it, the sharpness in the background would unify and tie the fore and middle ground together. Good suggestion..I guess I need to go back to the Smokies!
