Thanks for your comments Bill. I agree with you about the tree tops. I plan to return to this area in the fall and capture the scene with an interesting sky. |

Thank you Jane. I was at the same location yesterday and relooked at the composition. The only way I would like the scene better would be to add more sky. Having more sky would add more visual weight to the left side. I guess I just need to keep going back and wait for the perfect colorful sky. |

Thanks for your comments Michael. I agree about a touch more color. I think this will be a wonderful spot for a fall photo shoot. |

Photographing a rowboat on a foggy day with a touch of landscape color - who can ask for anything more. The placement of the boat makes the composition strong. The soft tones throughout are consistent with the mood you are trying to evoke...be still and observe. I have no suggestions other than to remove the 2 buoys. Also I'm not sure if white object in front of the boat is an anchor but the buoys and white object don't add anything to the image. Nice job! |

This is a beautiful image and the first thing I noticed was the orange mountain tops and how it really pops next to the blue sky. These colors play up each other's intensity and the reflections just add to the image. I like the grass in the foreground and my only suggestion would be brighten the grass highlights to bring more dimension and depth.

This is a beautiful location and I want to sit on the top of this cliff and just look out into the vastness of the ocean. It's a nice image and it evoked a feeling of interest for me. Glad you had a chance to be there.
As I looked closer at the photo my eye went right to the horizon line which is slightly off. The wide-angle lens definitely captures the whole scene, but in this image, it leaves a lot of negative space to the right. I think if the mountains on the right in the distance were more visible the wide-angle would work better. Or possibly a different time of the day, i.e., golden hour.
I would have liked to see this location with a telephoto or vertical composition. The coastline is what captivates me. Nice job!

What a fun place to photograph and nice job. The photo is on the darker side with the vignetting, but I like how the ruins are lit. For me the ruins are the main event. The sky and trees give it a sense of place, but I'm not convinced those elements are necessary especially with a blank sky. What do you think about cropping the photo to fill the frame, so the subject becomes a significant portion of the photograph?

I like the composition, light on the bridge, and the subtle sense of movement in the water from the 4 sec exposure. Not sure about the cream sky color as my eye goes right to it. Maybe using an ND filter would have turned the water into a misty blur and played up the foreground a bit more drawing less attention to the sky. I wonder how this image would look in B&W. Overall nice image. |

I thought my driving 1.5 hours in the middle of the night was long…3 hours…good for you!
One of my favorite things to photograph is the Milky Way. A good foreground and natural processing are critical to a realistic image. It's challenging to get the core to look natural and not overprocessed. I like the touch of pink from the sunrise along with the meteor and satellites. I usually like to see more of the MW in the sky, but your choice of the foreground works however the lights on the tree and rocks are a bit too intense for me. I would prefer to see just enough light to balance the foreground with the sky. Additionally, as this image was shot closer to sunrise did you try shooting the foreground during the blue hour with a smaller
f-stop to get more depth of field and then blending?

As you stated, stabilizing a camera is doable but considering the temp was in the low 30's and somewhat windy I decided not to mess with it at 4am in the morning. The sad thing is I own a platypod and that was at home too!
Thanks for your feedback on the image. I took several photos in that area. Some were symmetrical and asymmetrical. I agree the right side of the image holds more visual weight. The curved road and the sunlit trees are what caught my attention so I was ok with it. I appreciate your comments on how the images makes you feel and I will relook at all my images from that morning to further assess all aspects of balance. Also, in agreement about the white sky!
