Hi Ingrid,
Good idea on that additional crop to Tom's enhancements. This image might make it, yet. I hope you do get back to the California coast. It is stunning in any weather!

Hi Tom,
I love it when you all play with my images to give me different - and BETTER! - ideas. You could probably tell that I wasn't "sold" on this image, but your enhancements make it a much more impactful shot. Thank you so much.

Hi Greg,
Great suggestions. The bird does need to "pop" a bit more, since he is part of my title. Thanks for your feedback.

Hello Kamal,
Thanks for your feedback. I think I cropped this one a half a dozen times, but I'll try your suggestion and see!

HI Kamal,
I love the feel of this image. Great work in bringing out the colors and detail in post. I was debating about creating a square image with the net circle centered - just a thought.
Beautiful capture - as always.
Happy Holidays!

Hi Erin,
What a cute group! You did a great job working with the light you had and with your post-processing. I can only imagine trying to get 9 kids to pose!
My suggestions go to posing for your next portrait adventure. (But again - good luck with NINE kids!)
Rather than have everyone straight on to the camera, have them angle slightly toward the middle, with feet separated and leaning toward the front foot and the camera. I like the hands in pockets, but I usually ask for "fingers in and thumbs out." It keeps folks from balling up their fists in their pockets and adds a bit more interest to the pose. You could also try one hand in and one out. This tends to relax folks and gives you a more honest facial expression.
One other tip - you can always model the pose you want to achieve with your models. Then they can see the look you are after.
Great work - thanks for sharing.

Hi Tom,
I'll add one more WOW to Ingrid's comments!
This is a beautiful seascape. Great choice with the slow shutter to create that misty water against the rugged rocks. And the lighting is superb! Yep - this one needs to go on a wall, also!
Happy Holidays!
P.S. I DO see the camel! |

Hi Greg,
This one made me chuckle. I have a similar image that I titled "Bottoms Up." You did a great job capturing this moment in time - ducks are notoriously uncooperative when they see a camera! Great shot - thanks for sharing.

Hi Darcy,
No kidding - WOW! I've seen Chihuly's beautiful art here in Richmond and it is stunning. I love how you've framed it in the window. I would darken the window as Greg suggests and put this on your wall!

Hi Ingrid,
I had to chuckle - you actually got your husband to stop so you could take a picture! This is beautiful. I will have to put this on my list for the next time I visit Colorado.
I can't decide about the cars; my first impression was that they were distracting, but (as Darcy says) they do emphasize the scale of the mountains. Maybe remove just one...?
Great view - thanks for sharing.
