Hi Erin,
Thanks for your comments. It's interesting that several of you mentioned the "bright white." It had just been painted and it really was "bright white!"
However, when I submitted it for our local camera club critique, the one thing he mentioned was that I should tone down the white a bit.
I like my PSA Group's opinions better - LOL!!
Thanks!

Oh My!!! I did a double-take when I saw your image! I know we weren't standing in the same spot looking at the same bird - but we absolutely could have been. I LOVE your image because it is almost identical to one of my own favorite images.
I had to include it to prove that I'm not crazy. You did a much better job posing him, as his head position is much more appealing in your image. The colors are vibrant and your focus is tack sharp. Great job!

Great story and pensive portrait.
I love that you read my mind with your comment on the cleat. It's too bad you missed the bottom, but "it is what it is" as my Grandma used to say! Most people won't notice.
I do agree that you might crop in some from the left and maybe also from the right just past the small drip on the wall.
Great job!

Oh my - what I wouldn't give for that exquisite light?!
I do like both images, but I think the crop in the "Original" that positions him a bit off-center is more appealing to my eye.
The one suggestion I might make - and it's minuscule - is to remove the white line/branch below his beak.
Beautiful image!

What a great capture! I would love to have seen him.
I have a couple of suggestions to try:
1. Try cropping in from the left to eliminate the group of tall leaves and throw him a bit off-center.
2. Clone out the one little green vine on his foot.
Minor details for sure on a wonderful image.

I love it! The color of the sunflower really pops against that beautiful blue sky. You selected a great depth of field to bring the focus on that lovely bloom.
Great job!

P.S. I am currently in Boulder - admiring the beauty of Colorado - from my sister-in-law's balcony! |
