Thanks, Erin. I worked that center tile area a bit more to take out the glare that seemed to bother our Evaluator. I appreciate your fedback.

Hi Tom,
Thanks for your suggestions. I was going for a "painterly" look on the stairs. I like your characterization of "watery flowing soft look". But... our camera club evaluator didn't like it. Oh well - to each his own, I suppose!
Thanks for your feedback!

Hi Kamal,
Thanks, once again, for transporting us to another world!
Beautiful job in enhancing those colors in the original shot to bring attention to the main subjects. Removing those shadows in the foreground also helped to direct our eye to the stars of your photo.
I would also take those power lines out and maybe the guy in the background beside the camel master's arm.
Like Darcy, I thought it was cute that the camel was wearing a hat, until I looked closer. That is a nice bonus to this great shot!

Hi Erin,
You definitely snagged a good spot for showcasing your baseball catcher and your focus on him is nice and sharp. I'm not bothered that you didn't get his feet - the action is in his arm and the ball.
Being a former softball pitcher, this does make me sad, however. It looks like you've captured the throw back after a walk - one of the most frustrating moments in baseball - for the pitcher, the batter (usually!), the fans, and even the catcher! Next time, save that shutter a bit longer and wait for a throw down to stop a steal at second base, or better yet - a runner sliding into home where that catcher can really shine!

Hi Tom,
I love the mood you created with your processing in the final image. You took a so-so picture and added a bit of mystery and drama.
Greg's comment about texture in the upper left corner caused me to look again at that area. If you do add some texture there, you might want to address the "swoop" (for lack of a better term) that appears just above the trees.
Great job on creating the image!

Hi Greg,
Wow, what an interesting effect!
First of all, I love the original image, which could stand alone on its own merits.
You do achieve a wonderful "old world" feel with the brushstrokes created. The one thing that bothers me just a bit are the "too dark" splotches in the sky - especially the one under the bridge. It doesn't exist in the original, so I'm not quite sure why it's there. I think I'd like the other two if they were more blue than black. Just my 2 cents!
Great image and wonderful work!

Hi Darcy,
Great B&W image. You captured lots of detail and textures in both the wall and the surrounding terrain. Having the snow adds a wonderful extra element to this shot. I love that it makes me ask the question: "Are we inside looking out; or outside looking in?" And I never resolved that in my mind, so it MUST be a winning shot!
Super capture!

Hi Ingrid,
I love it - a SLOWER drive-by this time!
Nice capture of a beautiful scene. Your composition on the placement of the rock formations is excellent. It makes for a nice triangle between the three of them.
I have to agree on the sky. There is quite a bit of noise and several artifacts. Another selection might really make this a terrific image!
