Hi Kamal,
I was really expecting that observation on the plant in the corner. The more I look at that photo, the more it bugs me! Thank you for your observations and your "Nat Geo" compliment (although I don't think they would give it a second glance - LOL!)
Take care

Hi Kamal,
Thanks for taking us flying again! I enjoy these aerial shots and the glimpses into the lives of these hard-working people.
I agree that the highlights on the water might be toned down a bit and maybe reduce the shadows around the boat.
Great job with your trusty phone!

Hi Erin,
Wow - what a shot. You captured the action and brought the crowd into the shot to help tell this story.
I have a different cropping suggestion:
I'd like to see the rest of the referee and maybe a bit more room on the left. Then crop that right section back to the 1st upright support. There is nothing of interest there (just legs and arms).
Give it a try and see what you think.
Great job!

Hi Tom,
Gotta love those "S" curves! What a gorgeous shot. I love the lighting and how you treated both the beautiful egret and the background.
I agree with Ingrid that he needs just a bit more "head room" and the top and maybe to the left so he has some room to gaze out.
Well done!

Hi Greg,
What a wonderful portrait and great gift to these veterans and their families. I'm sure they will be cherished.
I have mixed feelings on the arms/hands. If you're going for a rigid formal look, then you've certainly accomplished that. However, he just looks uncomfortable to me. I sometimes ask my older gentlemen to cross their wrists or even put one elbow on their knee and lean into their fist to create some interesting angles or leading lines. Just an idea...
Great lighting and great job catching that wonderful expression!

Hi Darcy,
What a great image! I do like the treatment Tom gave the background.
Color me crazy, but I can't find this particular gargoyle in your original image. The reason I mention this is because I'd like to see just a bit less of a crop on the bottom and right. That way, we would get the entire base below him and more of the great texture and detail in that fancy work on the right.
Great job!

Hi Ingrid,
I miss cabooses! What a great shot!
I agree that the power lines need to go, along with the little trees in the "V" of that hill that Erin mentioned. (I thought they were people, too at first.)
Great balance and colors. And railroad tracks always make nice leading lines into a photo.
Great job!

Hi Ingrid,
Good point on bumping the red of the canoe and in the trees. I'll see what I can do with the highlights on the couple.
Great suggestions - THANKS!

Hi Erin,
Timing is everything in photography - right?!? That was pure luck!
I'm glad you liked the bush in the foreground, I kinda wish there had been a bit more, but I couldn't get a better angle because of an ugly pole on the right.
It is a beautiful area to visit in the fall!
Thanks so much!
