14 Nov 22 Comment HI Kamal,

Another interesting aerial shot! I love the symmetry of those circles. I'm glad you mentioned the birds - I missed them on my first pass.

You might consider reducing the shadows on the boats as Darcy suggested and maybe even converting the image to B&W.

Keep shooting these - very interesting!

14 Nov 22 Comment Hi Xiao,

Lovely portrait and beautiful post processing to bring the light on your subject so well.

The cropping suggestions echoed my secondary thoughts as well. There is no need for as much sky or water behind your subject.

One other thought - if you don't need this to be a geographically correct image - maybe flip horizontally so she is gazing off to the right...

Nice job!

14 Nov 22 Comment Hello Tom,

Wow! That was my first impression of this capture. Then, when I looked at the original it became a "Double Wow" that you were able to remove all those wires and supports! What a lot of work that must have been.

I agree with Darcy about the metal post to the left. I think I'd just crop just to the right to make sure the focus of your image is right where it belongs - on that beautiful engine. And yes - it needs to be in color!

Great work!

14 Nov 22 Comment Hi Greg!

What a great story and memory for your whole family!

I agree about the darker "foot" that appears to the right of his body but am more concerned about the extra "legs" that cross behind his legs. I find that I keep trying to make sense of where they should belong and that takes my attention away from his face and the faces of all those BIG boys who are chasing him.

This is a great capture, it might just need a bit more tweaking.

14 Nov 22 Comment Hi Darcy,

Love this "explosion of color", as Tom says. It truly is!

I think I will cast my vote for your original image. I like seeing the sharpness on the left, leading the eye off and away into the vastness of the blurry poppy field. (Just my 2 cents.)

The vignette works well. I do see an anomaly with the blurring or cloning of one of the poppies in the upper left. There seems to be a vertical line chopping off part of its petals.

Very striking image!

14 Nov 22 Comment "HI" Ingrid,

Very clever title! I have to admit, though, my first impression (before I saw the title or read your explanation) was that I would crop that extra fencepost out!

I love the colors, the clouds, and your use of the rule of thirds.

My "nits" are the couple of stray up-shoots above the treeline. My eye keeps going back to those, wanting it to be a smoother "flow" of those beautiful leaves against that dynamic sky.

Great image!
