I had to send it in before I had time to implement all of these wonderful suggestions, and guess what?! The Evaluator didn't like the disappearing rim either. You all are GOOD!
The good news is that our "Evals" are just the preliminary rounds for our "End of Year Competition", so I sitll have time to tweak it.
Thanks, Ingrid! |

Interesting comment - especially since I used a plain glass at first and then switched to this one. Maybe the flower on the glass is a bit too much.
And, I guess I did grab the wrong image as the original - oops! There were quite a few and I confused myself!
Thanks for the feedback! |

Awesome!
I like that you flipped it, too. I will definitely keep playing with it.
Thanks, Tom! |

I argued with myself about how much to darken that bright spot in the sky. Since I called this "Bottoms Up', I WAS trying to bring the viewer's eye UP. Maybe I'll try a take it down a bit.
Thanks, Darcy. |

Great Shot!
I concur with some of the other comments on removing those partial clouds. They seem to draw your eye out of the photo. Maybe a bit of dehazing and trying to lighten the shadows a bit would make this a truly stunning image!
Thanks for sharing this awesome aerial view!

Lovely!
I agree on the oversaturation of the green. I thought it was much more appealing in the original, since it seems to distract from the model's face and beautiful hair. I like the mood you created and the soft light on her face. I agree that there is no needs to see the eyes in this shot.
Question: Do we really need to see that much of her legs? A crop from the bottom might help us to focus more on her face and the rose.
One additional suggestion (my friends call me the "Titling Police" - LOL!) Consider changing your title to something like:
Anna (or whatever her name is) and The Rose
or maybe just
The Rose
or
Natural Beauties
Just some thoughts - great job!

That was refreshing - as I sit on my deck in 80-degree temperatures! Lovely image and a great, surprising story about what and where it is.
I like the vignetting to draw the eye toward the engine as well as the B&W "feel" with the little pops of color from the graffiti. I agree that it feels "heavy" on the right side. Maybe just a slight crop to the right edge of the window to leave that view visible, but eliminate some of that "heaviness" on the right side.
Great capture that made me smile! |

Great shot! Very sharp and VERY difficult to do with the speed at which I'm sure they were moving!
I like all the other suggestions to include those great, curvy leading lines on the left (or maybe just one of them) and the dust he is kicking up. Of course, cropping out the horse butt on the right was a good idea.
I'm not totally enamored with the color version - there really isn't much there - but the B&W seems a little flat. Maybe try a sepia look? It would give a sense of the roan of the horse and the brown dirt.
Great job!

Beautiful capture! Focus is sharp and falls off to the other leaves and blossoms to keep OUR focus on the star of the show. I agree with your presentation to keep it true to it's botanical appearance. I appreciate Tom's artistic eye, but it just seems unnatural for the bloom to stand up like that.
Great job!

I LOVE irises. They were my Mom's favorite flowers, so it helps me to remember her. The color is beautiful and the vignetting really set it off. The only suggestion I would make is to crop in a bit from the right to throw it off-center. I like symmetry, but I don't think it works that well in this instance.
Beautiful image. Thanks for sharing.
