Hi Brenda, it's a great shot - the only think I would comment on with respect to your edited upload is that the color looks a little unnatural - agree with Jason's observation that it's a little on the purplish side, might try to adjust slightly. Great work! |

Hi Jason, Interesting shot. I'm glad you indicated where this was taken - I'm not getting clues from the photo as to the context, and wouldn't have put it together without your caption. I like the expression on his face, think it would have been great to have something in the background that conveyed the location - not sure if there was something to his left or right (brewing vats, glasses, etc) that would have been included if he was shot from a different angle? There's something blue in the window that I can't read, perhaps that is something of that nature. Might consider straightening this a little clockwise, as well. Interseted to see what others would do with it... Thanks! |

Terry, I'm always amazed and impressed by your images... Can't say that the thought of professional ballet dancer in the woods with smoke grenades ever crossed my mind, but this picture made me smile! Kudos to you for thinking this up, and to your dancer for looking so relaxed at that instant. Love your treatment of the smoke and what you've done wtih the reds - nice that they match her leotard. The greens in the back look a bit unnatural to me, but to be fair, the whole scene is a bit surreal. I definitely wouldn't delete it! Thanks for sharing |

Interesting image Helen - I really like it. Totally agree with your crop and reorientation. Curious - where was this shot taken? Might consider replacing the box of the white in the window behind the subject with a clone of something from one of the other windows (something more muted, the white seem to draw my attention). Like the filters, and it's a great capture of the moment. Neat to go back and see what you can do more than a decade later with updated tools and skills! |

Beautiful image Sunil, not much to add - you've captured the moment, and I love your treatment of the sky. any shots with the dog looking the other direction, though? ;) Thanks for sharing this! |

Nice image Jim - I love buildings like this, and am drawn to all of the contained symmetries. Can't see your "as shot as," so I'm not entirely sure what was done already to this. Few minor tweaks I'd consider, as attached on the updated pic (albeit working on a low res jpg here)... Would level the picture horizontally - I used the railing 1/3 up as my guide. Woudl darken the closer set of stained glass a little and brighten the second set a bit, and tried to darken that little bright spot at the right side of the farthest arch. Also cropped in a little bit on the right to match the symmetry wtih the left side. Was the tripod sitting in the dead center, or was the initial pic a little off center then cropped? I really like this one, nice capture! |

Love the bird - the roseate is one of my favorites! Nice capture, with an unusual frame as he (she?) is coming in for a landing. I might consider cropping just a little less aggressively on the right and bottom - personally, I try to avoid the perception that the bird is looking at something off screen (that I can't see). Little bit of water in the bottom right corner seems ok, fits in the context of the image. Agree, challenging to deal with the exposure issue for the bird, and hard to reflect the true beautiful pink color! Nice job. Will email you offline re: R5 / firmware updates... |
