Hi everyone and thanks for the comments.
Allen...I agree about the tangle of trees, but my PS skills are not up to it! I also agree about removing the post to the left.
John...I tried your suggestion of moving in (see attached crop). I'm not sure it gives the tree enough room to breathe, if you see what I mean. I also think that the taller shape of the original emphasises the height of the tree, and I like the shadows in the foreground. Personal taste? I will be shooting the tree again...will try it differently!
John...OK a big drop of snow means different things! |

Thanks Debbie. I see what you mean about the snow, but I think it was quite hard like this...it gets hard when it has been lying and it freezes. Thanks for the welcome! |

Hi Allen.
I love Dr Hoo! I like the triangles...One between the owl, the woman's tattoo and the owl motif on her glove,, the other formed by her arm. I love the curve of the feather, and the way she and and Dr Hoo are at right angles.
However, is he looking right down the lens, or at your right shoulder?
Nice shot! |

I like it Debbie! A couple of comments:
The slice of blue in the reflection where the neck meets the body (and again near the tail) is distracting. Is that part of your added blue layer?
It's not quite sharp? I know it was handheld, and you've done a great job there. However, given that the bird is not sharp, more of the interest for me is in the reflection and the water. Why not try a brave crop? See attached very low res image. Just a thought. |

Hi Barbara
Thanks for your comments. You're right about The Cotwolds..lovely part of the world. You're also right about the tree..my favourite, of all the trees in all the world. Thanks for the welcome.
