48 Jun 21 Reply Thanks Lloyd. The idea to do the steel wool was Tim and Robins and the inspiration came after I had taken the images! Jun 20th
48 Jun 21 Reply Thanks Mary. It probably took about 15 minutes all up. I don't spend hours on one photo but I would certainly come back to it each time I am using an image for competition and re-process if it doesn't look right. Tim was wearing a glove to hold the steel wool. We were in a salt flat so it was really safe. Jun 15th
48 Jun 21 Reply It isn't as hard as it looks but thank you. I have been following some photoshop classes on line and it has really helped me get my head around it. But it is a constant process of learning and I have long way to go. Jun 15th
48 Jun 21 Comment Thanks for sharing this image Lloyd. An interesting edit. I want to try some focus stacking soon and I find macro work quite challenging with getting the DOF right. I also find that bit of yellow in the centre to be different from the symmetry of the image. Jun 15th
48 Jun 21 Comment It is a gorgeous scene Mary and I love the colours. I also agree that the grass is a little bright and wondered if you could just use a curves layer to selectively darken this. Jun 15th
48 Jun 21 Comment Nicely captured action shot Jamie. Sports events are great for getting some wonderful images. I think that I too would crop the sky because there are some highlights that appear to be blown. I was wondering if you also took some images from the other side so you could see the boys face a bit more?

48 Jun 21 Comment I really loved the clarity of the flower and the colours Margaret. I've never seen a flower like this before. I agree that a bit of a crop helps the image but I do like how the tree frames it. Jun 15th
48 Jun 21 Comment I love the soft background Bev and agree as well about the rest of the leaves being in focus. I have never used Topaz but have heard lots of people talk about it with respect to sharpening. Interesting to hear that it also helps you work with textures. Does it have scope for doing more compared with Photoshop? Jun 15th
48 Jun 21 Reply Thanks Bev. It will be interesting to see how it goes in competition!

48 Jun 21 Reply Thanks Margaret. Tim is spinning the steel wool and his wife is in the foreground with the camera. Yes, we were standing quite a bit further away.
