48 May 21 Reply Thanks Lloyd. I used a multifunction NiSi filter that combines a 6stop Neutral Density filter with a Circular Polariser, which helped tone down the brightness and work well for the reflections. The water here is shallow and quite still to begin. The exposure time is 1/15 of a sec, so not a terribly long exposure. I've brought out the brightness in post. May 5th
48 May 21 Reply Thanks Margaret. The colours are truly incredible at this spot but you can also arrive and find it overcast and gloomy. I was truly lucky that day. May 5th
48 May 21 Reply Thanks Jamie. I appreciate your comments. May 5th
48 May 21 Reply Thanks Mary. That was very much my intent. This is a very popular spot called Long Jetty. I tried to capture it without the main attraction which you see far away in the distance...the hand rail glowing orange with the setting sun. May 5th
48 May 21 Comment Great landscape Lloyd. I love the the rolling hills as well as the layering and the fall colours. May 5th
48 May 21 Comment A gorgeous image. It just evokes so much feeling and I love the way the creek creates a leading line that leads you into the image. May 5th
48 May 21 Comment I love what you have done with this image. I've only just started using the Nik collection so this is great to see. The image enhance feature that is new in Photoshop might be also something to think about if you need to blow this up or need a higher resolution file. You could also experiment with adding just a bit of sharpening just to the eyes perhaps. May 5th
48 May 21 Comment Thanks for sharing this image Margaret. I used to live in California and love the giant sequoias. I agree with Bev. The sky is a little uninteresting and there is also a fair bit of noise. Replacing the sky is a great option. I wonder if you do bracketing with your images? If you took 3 images with different exposures, you can easily use the merge function in Lightroom to create an HDR image. This may bring some colour back to images like this where the sky is very bright. May 5th
48 May 21 Reply Thanks Bev. I really appreciate that. Perhaps I might give it a go in some international comps to see how I go. May 5th
48 May 21 Comment Very interesting to see what you have done here Bev. We have a Creative Set Subject coming up at our club so I have been experimenting with mandalas etc. Creative isn't something that comes naturally to me so I love seeing what others are doing. The colours in the final image are lovely. May 5th
