Hi Doug, wonderful Tulip and I do like new edit. It separates the blossom more from the background. I've been doing a lot of experimenting with focusing on just one area of the flower, it's hit and miss. And as much as I'd like to be a fan of Lens Baby I just don't see the point when all you have to do is shoot something at f1.8 or f2.8 and get the same effect. That said, nice job! |

Totally agree with Marti, the motion within the flower is marvelous with its folds and wraps. And again, you are the master of backgrounds doing all you can to enhance the beauty of the flower. Well done. |

What an interesting rose, love how it's half open and half closed. The yellow is quite striking and you've captured quite a bit of detail. Very nice. What I'm not fond of is the shadow right in front of it. After shooting hundreds of flowers and ruining so many with shadows, I now only shoot when it is completely cloudy or, if inside, the subject is artificially lit on all sides. That said, it is gorgeous. |

Bob, very nice. Love how the stamen are almost floating in the flower. The background provides interest but some of the reds "leak" into the flower itself. I would try isolating the background as you've rendered it and toning the entire thing toward the green spectrum. I think that would make the flower pop more and keep the visual effect you're looking for. |

Had to be the first to comment - SO CREATIVE! I love every aspect of it. It's fun, whimsical, and beautiful all at the same time. The background is also perfect. I'd enter this is competition but you'll have to replace the face with something you shot to do so. Well done! |
