Doug, thanks for you feedback. Both programs are similar and you should be able to convert the entire file to LAB in PS. Just remember to convert back when you're done. |

Ingrid, this is lovely. The background is perfect in texture and color and the flower is interesting. The only note I'd give you is that you missed a small area on the right side of the flower's border where I can still see the white wall background. Easy fix. . . . Nice job. |

Hi Doug, great 4 way take on a rose blossom. Really like where the composition ended with a propeller like look at the petals. Colors are great and of the 4 contenders I like image 2 because that white line cutting across the middle really makes it. Nice job.

Nadia, yes to get the translucency of the petals, this was shot on a light board with 5 shots, each at a different exposure and combined into an HDR image. |

Kamal, I'm amazed your smartphone was able to capture this. It's close to what a macro lens can do. The colors are great and I like the way the fly is presented on the bud. I do wish there was a bit more room above the fly's head and the image seems a bit soft overall. I wondering if running it through something like Topaz sharpen would help. Anyway, nice job! |

Nadia, very beautiful. The color of red is luscious. I also like the background you used, really pops the color. And I like the way you brightened the background toward the center - it brings my eye right to where it should be. Very nice job. |

Marti, I LOVE this. It's other-worldly. Had no idea that this could be accomplished that way. Since I don't use PS I'll have to figure out how to do it is Affinity. Very striking! |

Bob, what a fun idea! The bundles of market flowers made of a wonderful subject and, as you will, turned it into something abstract. What I really like re the individual flowers that peek through, very inventive. I almost wish the swirl parts were more subdued and used more as a background for the flowers popping through. But that's just me. Nice job. |

Marti, thanks for your comments. Because I enter some of my images into competition I cannot use generated frames, but I do agree it would add a lot to the composition. |
