Doug, you captioned this perfectly. The colors are striking and the composition is excellent. There is some selective focusing going on and I'm not sure if I like it or not. It looks like there's some motion blur going on, but you seem to catch the center in focus, so I don't know. Overall I really enjoy this "concept" piece. |

Kamal, I love the idea here, very creative. The texture is very much like stucco gives the flowers are very unusual look. I do agree with the others that using a clone brush would do wonders for this. But all in all I think it's a very nice effort and very creative. |

Nadia, I do like the "pop" in this one. The flower is in focus and sharp as it needs to be. The background, although the perfect darkness and color, is a bit distracting with the overlay. It comes across as noise to me. Perhaps adding a bit of Gaussian blur would help? Very nice. |

Beautiful lupine. You nailed the colors and the detail. Background is perfect and I really like the idea of big/little lupine. Nice job. |

Such a fun image. I do like how you put the red flower, fully opaque, while the others are translucent. Colors are great too. My eye does get pulled towards the edges so cropping or reducing saturation there may solve it. Fun stuff! (Have you read any of Howard Davis' stuff? He's a master at garden and flower photography and really knows his way around a light box.) |

Hi Ingrid, love the direction you took this. It's a view that's unusual, which makes it interesting. The colors are great and I'm a proponent of removing imperfections in flowers. The colors are vibrant and brilliant and the black background sets it off nicely. Really well done. On a side note, my favorite camera is my RX-10, it's the Swiss Army knife of cameras. Folks don't realize that it's as good in close-up photography as it is in birds in flight. Love it! Take care. |
