Kamal, sorry it's taken so long for me to comment. I like the composition, what makes it is the three pads surrounding the lily. I agree with some of the cropping suggestions and sharpness is an issue. For me, my eye keeps going to the dark area of the lily as much as it does the light areas bringing focus away from the beautiful lily. Take care and thanks for sharing. |

Ingrid, what a beautiful flower and your macro lens did a fine job with focus. I take it this must have been shot with a high f-stop to get the depth? Colors are captivating and, though I generally don't like to center a flower in an image, this one works well. Nice job. |

Doug, I just love this. The colors are eye popping but at the same time pleasing. You have the focus where it should be and, for me, the black background works - especially with this coloring. Very well done. |

Nadia, think I would call this wickedly beautiful. The red is haunting, and the way you blended the background into the image made it into something special. You did a great job of getting the flower in focus using the 100 mm macro, I would've thought you needed a higher F stop to do it. And, for what it's worth, I would tend to agree with Ingrid in that the leaf on the left could be more a part of the background than in the foreground. Another great effort. |

Marti, water lilies are so fun to come across and you've done a great job capturing this one. I think my favorite part of this photo is the fact that the water in front of the Lily actually creates two leading lines into it. For me, I'm a nut with the clone tool, so I would probably clone out a little bit more of the brown spots just to make it a bit cleaner of a flower, but that is totally up to your creative choice. Well done. |

Bob, what a fun idea with the spiraling flowers. The colors are marvelous, and there's a great deal of interest, pulling the eye toward the center of the image. Somehow I wish that the flower that is in focus had more prominence, that is to say my eye wants to wander off of it and into the spiral blurs, especially the zinnia blur that's next to it. Wonderful creative concept. |
