The hat was actually hanging on a wall. |

Xiao, a great capture of the bee from the front! Darkening the background does help focus on the bee. |

Pierre, what an impactful image of the ladybug with its legs on the water drops of the dandelion! The detail brought out by Charlie in the flower and the darkening of the background add to the impact of your excellent image. |

Murphy, I love the way the woodpecker is looking away from the tree in your image instead of pecking at the tree as one would expect! My only recommendation is to darken the tree just a little. |

I also love capturing common subjects in a unique way.
The flared light on the bottom of the right can is a little distracting to me. I do agree with Neal that the technique and composition are excellent, but the image does not have the impact on me to take my breath away. |

Neal, what a most interesting image of the circle of life - the portrayal of the praying mantis devouring a bee! The upside down mantis truly captures one's attention. I would love to see more of the detail of the bee if possible. |

Barbara, great capture of the bee at work! I would love to see the image rotated so that the bee was on the diagonal. |
