Group Round C/R Comment Date Image
36 Feb 21 Reply Thank you very much Larry for all the valuable suggestions and taking the time to edit the photo to demonstrate the resulting effect. The subject (rock formation) looks much more distinct now. I was so impressed with the pattern of the foreground that I put too much emphasis on them rather than the main subject.
I really like the glow on the rock formation. How did you add tellow with the adjustment brush? Did you increase the saturation slider or change the color temperature?

36 Feb 21 Comment Thank you for the comment and suggestion. The cliff was backlit and very dark. I lightened it quite a bit but maybe not sufficient. Will open it up more as suggested.
I used 12 mm wide angle lens with no polarizer (can't afford to buy those expensive polarizers for super wide angle!) and almost lay flat on the ground to take this picture. I am bothered by the dark centre of the sky too. You suggestion to brighten the centre with circular filter is a good one. Thanbk you!

36 Feb 21 Comment I like the mysterious mood of this castle. The low angle shot makes it very powerful. Wonder if a vertical cut will bring more focus to the castle and the bird. Feb 19th
36 Feb 21 Comment Love the composition of this image. The curve of the meandering river leads me to the main subject - the tree trunk. The distant trunks and cloud in the sky make a good background. The light color of the riverbed takes away focus from the trunk. Arne's treatment solved that problem and this becomes a even more powerful image! Feb 19th
36 Feb 21 Comment The composition of this image is excellent, with a powerful leading line from the bottom all the way to the sky. The bridge acts as a very interesting anchor point.
I like the green version much better. Using the boulder as foreground to add depth is a good idea. Would be nice if the boulder is smaller and less distracting. Great image!

36 Feb 21 Comment Beautiful golden glow of the mountain against the magenta sky! I agree that darkening the foreground hill will stand out the mountain and sky more. Arne's color treatment is perfect! Feb 19th
36 Feb 21 Comment Amazing capture of the milky way! I am impressed with how bright the milky way is. The light painting of the foreground is well done and adds interest to the image. Thanks for the tip of your settings in capturing milky way. I started photographing milky way after covid started since that is the best kind of outdoor photography for social distancing! I use a 16-35mm F4 lens. I set 25 sec exposure at ISO 3200. The resulting image is a bit noisy and the stars tends to be oblong as you pointed out. I will try using your setting next time. Feb 19th
