Where you standing to take the photo? Using a tripod?
Another time, you could get down low, focus in on a plant or something in the foreground, keep your F stop high enough to have great depth of field, and capture the total scene from a different perspective. You could also minimize the sky if its not especially a good sky. |

As you all know, I am not a bug person. The first time I saw this moth was in Colorado. I had no clue if it was bird or insect.
Yours looks like it is still alive on the page.
And I also agree to tone down the white. |

I don't have much to add, its a terrific photo. Looks like you were on the ground with her. I would like to see the original also. |

Beautiful colors on the entire photo, especially the blue eye and leg of the butterfly. I know nothing about butterflies, and not much more about flowers. |

I also watched these hawks being raised. My two cents worth on cropping: Sherry, I think we are so used to seeing the hawks on these particular branches that the branches become part of the whole scene. In fact, as soon as I saw your photo I recognized where you took it. So I like the uncropped version. If junior had something in his mouth, then tighter on him would be justified. |

Thanks. Yes a tripod in order to use the slow shutter speed and probably a neutral density filter. |
