I first went there in 1963. It was breathtaking. So blue. So green. Still empty. My father and I took lots of photos. Maybe I still have them someplace.
I went again in 2017. So built up and commercial. We spent a week there. Nice but way too many changes.
The colors in this photo remind me of 1963. Tree |

Thank you. Actually since I have grown to know these bird's behaviors well, they will sit like this for 20 minutes or more to dry out their wings so they can fly. Great birds to practice on.

Thanks. I had never heard of this bird before visiting FL and then coincidently buying a house on Anhinga Ave. This was Green Cay and they hung out in those high trees. |

Wonderful details here. The colors are just beautiful and the netting in the wings is so clear. |

I have seen several bathing shots of spoonies recently. The trick seems to be to capture the eye and feathers sharply, and at the same time have less of the water drops being splashed about the face.
You have come pretty close here with your " original shot". I feel Sarita's editing brought out the best in this shot.
I like her crop and the reflection. Maybe one of those 20 fps cameras can capture the perfect moment!! |
