I was up there years ago. We rode horseback down to the bottom of the crater.
I would crop this more, just including the largest group of people. And I would try lightening up some of the clouds so they grab our eyes. This a fun photo to play with. |

This a great shot to practice on because you have sky, land, water, and great light. If your monitor isn't calibrated, you might want to learn how to do that. Then you will get a sense of what the colors are that you are choosing.
In your photo here, you could pick up the light of the sky and have it reflect on the trees and water below, with a little "dodging and burning". |

I feel like if I touched it, it would come alive. Great detail, wonderful colors, and it's name is so fitting. |

Agree with all the others. Beautiful colors and soft light background. An all around terrific picture. |

That elephant is keeping its eye on you and I would capitalize on that. I think a close crop on it's head and eye would show its awareness of you and your group. The right rear elephant doesn't lend much, and the mom and baby, while cute, are not quite clear and are not aware of you. That way you don't need to deal with the sky.
We should all be lucky enough to have to figure out how to shoot a group of elephants! |
