The Venice Rookery was hit hard, few birds have returned so far but we are optimistic, and the Audubon Building owned by Sarasota County had major damage and no one knows what the County will do about it. Myakka River Park has still remained closed. Ft. DeSoto is ok.
My house is ok and we just lost a tree. Good luck with today's storm. |

Nice clear photo. I like what Sherry said, however I think the branch on the left is ok, because it shows the environment of the bird. My general preference for wildlife is to see the environment rather than a close up portrait. This is a very pretty shot of this bird; I don't think I would recognize one in the wild. |

This is very educational. As many deer as I have seen up north, I never saw one in this state and I didn't know about the blood. This is really a great capture and teaches a good bit about nature. |

We had a squadron of white pelicans visit us last year, going after the armored catfish in our pond. It is amazing to see the whole fish flopping around in the pouch. Your photo shows how thin and transparent the pouch is. I am always surprised how they are able to swallow such a big fish. You brought out a lot of details on his head and neck. |

Nice feather detail on the bird. I have never seen these. I like the motion and the ripples in the water as he moves. The red eye is apparent on my monitor. |

Come visit me and I will take you there. The presenter also said they are at the Helen and Allan Cruikshank Sanctuary on the east coast. |
