68 Jan 21 Comment This shot really brings me back to flag football games as a kid growing up in the Chicago suburbs. Interesting and good enough depth to make it worthwhile in 3D Jan 21st
68 Jan 21 Reply Hi Brian, thanks. 1) the patents are no longer valid, so anyone can do it. 2) cha-cha method has nothing to do with it.

The nature of a phantogram is that most typically a rectangular reference frame is included in the shot, and the image is shot at an angle relative to that rectangular frame. Both the right and left eye shots are cropped to the frame, effectively reversing the effects of perspective.

I've attached a tutorial page from my new book of macro phantograms, Macrophant 3D (info at http://macrophant3d.com). There's a pretty good phantogram tutorial on my main website at http://3ddigitalphoto.com/phantograms.pdf

68 Jan 21 Reply Hi David

This one was nowhere near 45 degrees. Maybe more like 75 to 80 degrees. Most of my phantograms are in the 30 to 60 degree range, but more than anything I look for a shot I like. In any case I find that correcting for perspective does quite a bit.

I've attached the original LR

68 Jan 21 Comment This is my first effort to the group, sorry not to have included more information about the shot. I took this with a Fuji W3 and Cyclopital macro attachment made for that camera. It's one of my earliest macro phantograms. I made a rectangular frame out of cardboard for this shot to use for phantogram processing. Jan 8th
68 Jan 21 Comment Nice effort in conversion. It looks to be a very challenging image to convert, lots of layers to consider. I don't know what you did in Corel Painter, but the colors are great. Jan 7th
68 Jan 21 Comment Very monochrome and not a strong stereoscopic subject. The only depth that comes across is in the snow on the left side. Jan 7th
68 Jan 21 Comment Interesting subject and very good light. Jan 7th
68 Jan 21 Comment Very fun composite image. Nice hyper stereo, shot from an airplane I assume. Great job compositing the fishermen, really fun.

For improvement maybe making the water a deeper blue.

68 Jan 21 Comment Interesting image, and great subject and use of stereography to bring the image to life.

Minor flow black spot in upper right corner of left eye image should be cloned out.
