49 Jan 26 Reply Here is the process. Pour distilled water into a clear glass bowl. Add a few drops of vegetable oil. Place the glass bowl on top of a picture on your ipad or iphone. the oil drops refract the light giving these extraterrestrial images! Pretty cool, huh? Jan 19th
49 Jan 26 Comment Morrie,
This is a wonderfully composed image! It was a great move to render in B&W. I'm amazed that you got a starburst out of the sun at f8. I don't usually get a star burst unless I'm at f18 or above.
My only suggestion for improvement might be to tilt the image slightly to the right, so that the amount of road you are showing on the left and right are the same.

49 Jan 26 Comment Craig,
You've reminded me that with new tools in LRC and Topaz, I should re-consider some of my older photos. Thanks.
Looks like you needed a little greater DOF. Some of the fish are quite sharp, but others, which are only a few inches further back are not.

67 Jan 26 Comment You guys have inspired me to take another swing at this photo. What do you think? Jan 8th
67 Jan 26 Reply Thanks for the feedback, Larry. I was also disappointed in the slight lack of sharpness. You're right it was hand held. Jan 6th
67 Jan 26 Comment Butch,
This is an incredible shot! I agree with Larry that the extent that you used AI is up to you. You couldn't enter this in a PSA Nature competition, but so what! It's a terrific image. Just to clarify, I don't think you used a motion sensor. You had an intervolumeter which shot every 30 seconds for around 4-5 hours on a 30 second exposure, right?

67 Jan 26 Comment Larry,
As always, your story about the picture is at least as good as the picture itself! how you ever spotted this bird in its perfectly camouflaged environment is beyond my eyesight! Great capture. The challenge would be separating the bird from its really distracting environment!

67 Jan 26 Comment Cindy,
Like Larry I thought we had a two-headed monster until I read your description! I agree with you that I wish you could have taken this from a taller or shorter vantage point, so that the heads were either below or above the horizon line. You had very good lighting and the head and esecially the eyes are tack sharp!

67 Jan 26 Comment Jenny,
Good for you that you braved the freezing tempertures to get out and shoot! This duck stretching its wings is a great subject. I agree with the other commenters, that you might consider cropping out most of the water to make the bird larger in the image. If you hadn't told us about the artic smolke, I would not have seen it in the upper portion of the image, so losing it would not be a big deal.
