Morrie,
What a great shot of the lightning. My understanding is that there is a device you can connect to your camera that will sense an impending lightning strik and can snap the image for you. In any case, I agree with Alan, that what draws me to this image is the lightning strike. I also did not see the MW until you pointed it out. I'd suggest cropping way down from the top to isolate the lightning strike. |

Craig,
The orange flame like garment that the model is wearing is of course what grabs my attention! It's wonderful that you must have taken this with a slow shutter speed to blur the garment, yet the model remains sharp. I would have thought that her arm at least would be blurred too. Is this a composite? In any case it is quite stunning! |

Cindy,
We get these small frogs in a local wetland near where I live too. I normally shoot them in profile, so i was intrigued by a shot of the frog's back! Great texture on the frog! i like Roy's crop to take the frog off dead center. |

Bud,
I've never seen this hummingbird! Great colors in the bird and the plant. Like Butch I was distraf=cted by the branches stickout out on the left bottom of the image. Either cropping or cloning might resolve that issue. I like Butch's flip. |

Butch,
The others said it so well. What a terrific shot of this moment! Energy!! The dust adds to the feeling of movement! I was at the Mara a couple of months ago, but the wildebeests were just gathering, but did not cross! |

Larry,
As usual, your story behind the image is as compelling as the image itself! When I first looked at the image, I was struck by the male bird's wings and the twig of evergreen. If that was all you had, I'd call this a terrific picture! Before I read the description, I was distracted by the head and tail of the female bird. Without you explanation, her presence in the image is confusing. |

Cindy,
What a moment! Love how you caught the bug about to get swallowed! My suggestions for improvement fall along the lines of what Butch showed us. There is a need to contrast the bird with its background. I would also crop out or clone out the small green twig on the right. |

Jenny,
Great capture! You have this downy woodpecker at a good angle, so that we can see his face and beak. Love the snowflakes. I agree with others that you might consider cropping of the right side to eliminate the branches. You might also clone out the branches at the bottom. The background is beautifully blurred! Great shot! |

Scott,
I like the concept of the bird on a pedestal. It gives it a statue like feel. I agree with the others that the image could benefit from cropping some of the water from the top. I'd like to see a bit more detail in the feathers, but as Larry mentioned, shooting a white bird on a sunny day is tough! |
