Thanks Alan and Cindy. I think you're right about leaving it color Alan. Thanks for confirming that. Cindy, glad you liked the forest feel! |

I agree. I think it works better as a square. |

Morrie,
I agree with Josh! This is a captivating shot. Love how you took the time to wait for the sun to peak through the sculpture, so that you could get that dramatic starburst. My only suggestion for improvement would be the check to see if the lighthouse is perfectly vertical. It looks as if it is leaning a bit to the right. Easy to fix in LRC. |

Alan,
Great capture. No distracting elelments, so it is easy to figure out what the subject is! Great exposure and composition! You have captured great detail on the dragonfly's wings and body. About all I would do to improve a strong image is to reduce the highlights on the stem. Great capture! |

Josh,
What a great concept - plant eats bug instead of the other way around. I think that the high key presentation works quite well. What's confusing is understanding what has been captured by the plant. I can't tell that is is a fly. Maybe work the shot from different angles? |

Mark,
I agree with most of what Josh said. I like thetight focus on this young violinist. You've got her entire head and all of her violin. Well done. I love the expression on her that you have captured. Shooting at f2.8 did a great job of blurring out all but your subject. To improve the image, I'd recommend that you cool down the many hot spots in the background. For example the lower right takes me away from the subject, as do the hot spots above the subject. |

Craig,
I really like the idea here. You've got a weathered barn and a weathered truck. This says so much about vanishing rural America. Here's the dilema for me. You have the truck perfetly positions with a bit of the barn extending on either side of the ruck. That's careful composition technique. Bravo! But then the barn beomes one-dimensional. I'd ike to see the barn extend beyond the fron wall that you are showing us. Ok, but then that can mess up your use of the truck. Nothing's easy!! |

Cindy,
Sorry I'm late in the month in responding. Love how these two wonderful birds are interacting. I also like the sharp details on their eyes and head. Well done. What draws my eye away from these two birds, however, is all of the bright and distracting elements around them. That chunk of wood on the upper left blocks our view of the red bird. The bright spots around the blue bird are also taking my eye awat from the main scene. So the solution is to move yourself aroundand take lots of pictures of these beautiful animals until you get teh composition that you really like. |
