Well when I took the picture I was most attracted to the layers of water land, fog, mountain cloud. |

Alan, Thanks for your feedback. One of the things I really liked about the color version was the red roof on the lighthouse. Really draws the eye to it. |

Alan,
I keep meaning to go to the Palouse. Maybe this image will get me going! You've used that creek as a wonderful leading line to take the eye through the image. The time of day provides some great shadows, emphasizing the hils a d plowed fields. Great stuff. Suggestions: You might consider cloning out the tree on the far left. It takes my eye off the picture. Also, just for fun, see what it looks like in B&W. |

Josh,
Beautifully composed and beautifully rendered! I love that you have exceptional sharpness from front to back and that you have that wonderful starburst! Too bad you d=id not have a couple of clouds in the sky, but you have very little sky, so that's not a big deal. Minor suggestion is that you might consider cropping out the clump of flowers on the lower middle right edge. It has the effect of taking the viewer's eye away from the subject. An easy fix! Bravo! |

Stephen,
A verey unusual image of an unusual critter! What's most interesting is the eye between those two branches. You might consider cropping it vertically so that all you see is the eye, the branches and the back. I'm not sure the stuff on the left helps. |

Craig,
I have to admit that I get my best raptor shots at those rescue places. You've got great detail on the owl and his feathers. We can see the eye clearly. Well done. Suggest you crop out the tree trunk on the left and you reduce the tonalty of the green highlights in the upper right. |

Bud,
Isn't it great when you get the shot that you were yearning to get? How often we swing and miss! Great lighting on the lion and great reflection. No suggestions for this one! |

Larry,
Defintely an Awww shot!! I love the way you have captured the detail in their feathers and you've got the eyes. My only suggestion would be to have waited a bit so that they did not merge, but hey, nature doesn't work that way. |

Cindy,
I love this image! It makes you think about how many legs the bird has. Oh wait a minute those extra legs belong to the little ones! I love the soft background. It works great with the scene. I'm tempted to say that you might have stood a little taller to get a full reflection of the family. In the original, you almost have the whole scene in reflection. |

Susan,
You captured a great moment with the bird opening his mouth, ready to guzzle down some salad. Love the blue feathers and teh red eye. Both are sharp. I also commend you on getting the feathers sharp. That's not easy to do with white feathers. For a shot like this I agree with Larry that you would be better off with a wider f stop like 4.0 or 5.6. It would blur you background a bit better. You might want to consider toning down the bright stalks right in front of the bird and right behind it. AS for PS, I would recommend that you invest time in LRC. It is a whole lot less confusing the PS. |

Michael,
The capture of the frog getting caught by the bird is priceless! He looks distraught! My only suggestion repeats what Larry said. I would have preferrred to see the bird more in profile. I can barely see his eye. But nature is not always cooperative! |

Larry,
Thanks for your feedback. I have to admit to really liking the aqua colored water in the foreground, so i think I'll stick with the color version. Thanks also for the tip about the dark line at the bottom. Good idea to crop it out. |
