Peggy, You've selected an intriguing subject and you caught it at a good time of day, or at least on an overcast day. My only suggestion is that you framed it a little too tightly. The top peak of the barn is too close to the edge of the photo, as are the left and right sides of the barn. |

Alan, I long to visit Joshua Tree NP! Your picture inspired me wome more!! I love the wam yellows in the grasses at the bottom and the subtle lighting on the sides of the trees! Abut the only thinkg you are missing are some clouds in the sky! |

Josh, You've captured a great sports moment! The lighting on the subject is very good! About the only thing I could suggest would be to crop off a bit on the right side to eliminate the arm of the other player. |

Stephen, I like the concept here of getting a craftsman doing his thing! While I like the idea of a slower shutter speed to suggest motion, it looks like you made a mistake. You might have gone slower still to realy capture motion! The bakground is too bright and too much in focus. You could try cropping like Josh suggested, or blurring the background more and darkening it. |

Craig, Seems like you have several very interesting images here. The large one on the left would be a good stand alone, as would the panel with the cartoon car to the right. If you keep it as is, then I would crop the right side just to where the car panel is. |

Bud, Like you I am enamoured of the birds that visit our feeders in the backyard! I like the shallow DOF here! It is hard to figure out what is going on with the bird's mouth. The title suggests that it is his tongue, but that is hard to pick out. |

Richard,
I m ust admit that I am unfamiliar with sypress swamps. I need to learn more!! I was surprised to see that you shot this at f 2.8, since the trees in the background appear to my eye as sharp at the subject tree. Seems like they should have been blurred more. Suggest that you darken all of the trees in the background to alow your subject tree to pop out more. |

Larry,
Great capture and even better story!! Thank goodness you escaped with your life!! I love the soft wave action against the rocks! The threatening sky with the lightning bolts is magical! About the only suggestion I have is that I wish you had been slightly higher, so that the rocks were all below the horizonb line. Nit picky I suppose! |

Cindy, what an unusal bug! My only suggestion would be to reduce the highlights. The leaves are very shiny. I wish that the hole was a uniform dark color like the top 2/3 of it are in your image. Perhaps help it out in PS? |

Susan,What a great image of a very colorful bird! I'm dying to go to Costa Rica! The crop works very well. Great that you were able to get the bird framed by those lovely leaves! You controlled the background very well. My only suggestion would be to look closely at the background. There are a number of small white dots that would be easy to clone out. |

Michael,
Great imager of a massive animal and delicate little flowers! What is a little odd is where the DOF falls off. It's great behind the bison-just what you want. But oddly enough the area of the bison's coat below the horn is blurry, but his back is not? I guess if you had shot this at perhaps f8, this would not have hapened? |
