Alan, I Find myself in agreement with Josh that you might consider flipping it. The sharpness on the fly and the pestle are impressive. You let the rest of the flower go into soft focus, which is what you want to do. I also love that you got the shadow as well. Great capture! |

Josh, I really love the cascading layers of colors! I would not have guessed that this was a rose! I had trouble figuring out what was in focus. It seems to me that the portion of the image that is most in focus is the purple and the edge on the left side. But you shot it at f13, which should have been more than enought o get everything in focus. |

Jo-anne, what a wonderful shot of your granddaughter! You certainly captured her at a wonderfully random moment! The light on her is very pleasing! You might consider cropping up from the bottom just a bit to eliminate the triangle in the lower right. I agree with Craig that the face is a little soft. You might run that through Topaz Sharpen AI. |

Craig, seems to me that you captured an attractive young lady in an interesting pose. The red dress and red hair also work well together! I can see a little of the "content aware" addition on the right. You might have had the model step out a little bit closer to you so that the background would be a bit more blurry. What was your f stop? |

Bud, I'm glad that the group did a bunch of birds in flight this month! I've learned a lot from the commentary. I agree with all of Cindy's comments. My only suggestion would be to spply Topz sharpen AI to the head of the bird. It seems a little soft. |

Richard, I like Bud's rendition of this scene. The only downside is that it losses the environment of the swamp, but I though that the tender moment was well worth it. It you stick with your current composition, I'd suggest darkening the area behind the fawns and especially the stick that appears to be growing out the head of the fawn on the right. |

Cindy, what a great location and those trees are quite unusual! You were blessed wth good light! My only suggestion woulkd be to crop off the left side so that you would have the tall tree on the right with the three smaller trees to the right with those wonderful reflections. |

Susan, what a great bird shot you got! Love the colors and the angle of his head. I'm inclined to agree with Cindy that while the feathers are wonderfully sharp the head and eye are a little soft, so bumping up the f stop would be the way to go. |

Michael, Like the others I appreciated th softness of this shot. I really like the ripples. My only suggestions for improvement would be to make the portion of the catfish that is sticking out of the water a little sharper. Also, I would burn down the light green patches on the edges. |

Susan, If my memory serves me correctly, I believe it was a cloudy day. I had a 150-500 lens with me, but these eagles are so fast that I did not want to risk not getting the whole bird and the splash. Also, I was probably only about 50 yards from the bird. |

Thanks Cindy for the clarification. Yes I used a minimal number of focus points. I did not go all the way out to 200 mm to ensure that I got the eagle in the frame. I can't remember how many shots I took of the eagle swoop down nail the fish and fly away. I was in burst mode obviously. I'll put the bird through topaz sharpen. Thanks everyone for your comments. |

Thanks for your comments Larry. You were right that this shot was hand held. I don't recall the focal points. I took a series of shots as the eagle came in hit the fish and took off. I thought this was the best of the lot. Tell us more about the focal points. |
