Dicky,
This has some possibilities. You need to decide which is more appealing - the sky or the foreground, then crop accordingly. If you decide it is the sky, then crop about half of the foreground. If it is the foreground, the crop just below the bright patch of the sky. In any case, you should consider cropping out the building on the left side. |

Alan,
Milky Way shots are so compelling! I've yet to get my first!
The Milky Way part is terrific! I'd work on darkening the island. it is too bright to be believable. Also, the light did not cover the tops of some of the trees, so that needs to be more consistent with the rest of the trees. |

Josh,
This is a great image. It accomplishes just what you had in mind. I started with the yellow tree and followed the river to the mountains in the background.
My suggestions for improvement would be to lighten the area around the yellow tree to help it pop out more. Perhaps desaturate and darken the green areas. The other suggestion would be to clone out the tower on the top of the mountain on the left. |

Criag,
This is a stunning image of a GBH! They are always such a photogenic bird!
I love how the yellow in the beak is picked up in the yellow fowers behind the bird. The softness of the background is just right. Only thing I might suggest is lightening up the gray portions of the neck and body of the bird. |

What a wonderful tribute to those in Monmouth County who lost their lives in the 9/11 catastrophe! i grew up in Monmouth County, NJ!
I think I might have experimented with different camera angles. We lose some of the names on the front of the statue because of the grasses blocking our view. I amslo might have used a polarizing filter to take some of he glare off of the rock.

Thanks frank. I was with out of Chicago. They run workshops in a number of locations around the us. I like the idea of lightening the leaves. Thanks. |

Bud,
You definitely took an image with a poor sky and turned it into a winner. I love the sky that you have added. It makes then image much more interesting. Denoise got rid of the noise and left us a sharp image of the bird. Well done! The eye is pretty sharp and the feathers have great light on them! Great image! |

Richard,
Your patience in a moving boat paid off. This is a great shot with great lighting on the bird! Like Larry, I'd crop off all of the foreground to get rid of the sticks and start with the footprints. I'd also crop off the left, but not so much as Larry showed, but I like giving more room to the right to give the bird something to look at. |

Larry,
What an imaginative shot! The large bird in the foreground is sharp and the lighting on him/her is terrific! Your patience paid off. I'm surprised that you elected to go with f5.6, given your clear desire to get lots of birds in the frame. I love the pattern that you got with the other birds. For the most part you have each of the other birds separated. That's not easy to do! I took pix of snow geese, that I will one day share with the group and separating them is impossible! |

Frank,
Sunsets are always exciting visually, but they need a point of interest. To me the most intriguing part of the image is in the lower right just above the mountains. There you have some layers of clouds and colors. Perhaps crop down from the top? |

Michael,
This is a wonderful image! I agree with what Larry mentioned. Capturing two butterflies is not easy and it was done som well here! You might consider darkening the goldenrods in the background a touch, so they do not compete for attention with the subject goldenrod. |
