Alan,
Like you I like to go out a shoot images of ice in the winter. The incredible shapes make for wonderful images. I really like the simplicity of this image!
While it looks like you shot with plenty of DOF at f13, the top part of the branch does not seem sharp to my eye. Maybe run it through Topaz Sharpen AI? The background is beautifully soft. You might consider putting a vignette on it. |

Josh,
An interesting take on your son. I agree with other commenters that you might keep trying to take pix of him doing kid stuff. Not seeing his eyes loses my interest. The light coming in from our left is a little strong. |

Jo-ann,
I agree with the previous commenters. I don't see the ocean in this shot. There are too many distracting elements, like the branch in the lower left and teh cactus growth on the right. |

Craig,
You did a terrific job capturing this frog with a great reflection. The eyes and the reflection of the eye are tack sharp! Well done.
About the only thing I'd suggest would be to tone down some of the highlights in the background. As far as cloning out a bubble, don't get me stared on PSA Nature rules. They are archaic. Our club ignores them for in-club competitions. |

Sylvia,
Where did you take this, in AZ? Just curious. The colors are stunning and those slot canyons are to die for photographically speaking.
I agree with several of the others in the group that you might consider reducing the amount of sky by maybe half. The real star of your piece is the rock formation. I'd consider bringing up the shadow areas inside the cave. I still don't see "the scream." Might try a different title. |

Josh,
Thanks for the feedback. Good point about the full range of pure black to pure white. I'm going to work on that. Not sure what you are seeing to the right of the subject trees, but I will definitely investigate on the original. Thanks again. |

Richard,
You captured a great moment with the two cormorants complaining to the spoonbill. I like the crop you made from the original.
What shutter speed did you use? I'd recommend darkening the wings and beak of the spoonbill. Also there is some grass in the lower left that you might consider cloning out. |

Larry,
This is a winner! You've the eyes, the feathers and the long feathers all very sharp. I wouldn't worry much about the dark shoreline in the background. I don't find it distracting. The composition is also excellent with the bird not being too close to any of the edges. No suggestions for improvement! |

Jason,
I also liked this shot. You've got a very fast moving critter tack sharp! I'll remember to use 1/2000 sec in the future.
I agree wiht Larry that a small bit might be trimmed off the right side to get rid of that black corner. You might consider unsharpening the white petal on the bottom center. |

Michael,
Great shot of the bee an the flower. As others have said it is sharp where it needs to be on bee and flower bunch. Well done!
I'd consider reducing the luminosity of the white flowers in the background. |

Larry, Thanks for playing around with this image. I think the dehazing in the lower part of the image is an improvement. I wondered if I shouldn't have used a slower shutter speed, but that would have been a very different look. |
