Dicky,
I don't do much street photography, so I can appreciate it when others do.
There is a lot going on in this image. I'm not sure where my eye should rest. I guess I would have isolated on one of the groups that you saw, like the two men at the lower left. Like other I believe that the top is too bright. Perhaps crop it down to eliminate the two signs at the very top and top right? |

Alan,
This is stunning! Love the colors and the composition! You gotta share how to do this!
My only suggestion would be to darken the small greenish circle on the left.
Well done!! |

Jo-ann,
Well I must say two of you this month are pursuading me that iphone photography can be pretty darned good!
I agree with Sylvia that you have too many elements in the scene. The most striking is the white dress in the center. The other elements distract from that central dazzling dress. Suggest that you clone out the item at the top and the other dresses. |

Craig,
Gotta admit that I am not really a "car guy," but I like this image.
The vertical composition is spot on, given your subject. Love the red and chrome colors. I might have included a tiny bit more on either side of the headlights. They seem to be slamming into the edge of the frame. I'd look carefully at the spaces between the grill. You can see some engine parts. I'd work to clone those out, so that each slot in the grill is black. I'd also consider cropping the bottom to get rid of that sliver of what I assume is a bumper. |

Sylvia,
I've had the good fortune to have visited that same spot several years ago. People tell me now they have a fence, making photography more challenging.
The composition is great! You have good foreground detail and good detail on the central rock. Very interesting that you decided to use a slow shutter sped to blur the water. Great idea. Like the other commenters, I think that you have oversaturated the sky. Having a band of blue and then one of yellow does not look natural. Usually a cloudless sky will move gradually from one color to the next. |

I'm definitely going to try this. The original picture, taken in the fall, had lots of bright green and yellow. I toned them down a lot, but maybe B&W is really the way to go. Thanks. |

Thanks for pointing out what to most people is a confusing element in the image, namely the "black box." It is a grave marker for an infant. You have shown me that that is not common knowledge, so I will consider cloning it out. Thanks. |

Bud,
What a great experience seeing grizzlies in the wild. We saw them in AK too, but didn't get this kind of a shot.
I agree with Larry's suggestion about the placement of teh bears in the composition. I'd also suggest that to make the bears pop out, you might consider darkening the light colored line that runs horizontally along the base of the trees. The tonality of this line is too close to the tonality of the momma bear.

Richard,
What a great moment. I've only seen bobcats in captivity.
It's too bad the light for the scene was right behind you. Perhaps pull the highlights down a little on the cat? Another suggestion would be to add a vignette to nudge our eyes toward the subject. I agree with Larry's suggestion about running the cat through Topaz sharpen. |

Larry,
I live in norther VA, so we get a lot more ice and snow. Love trying to capture the many moods of snow and ice. Next month I will post some for us.
You performed the merge expertly. You'd never know that it started as 2 photos. Personally I think the most interesting part of the image is the upper fall with that magnificent icicle, the lower rapids and the rhododendron on the right. Then you get moving water, ice, snow and a green bush. |

Michael,
This creek has some great possibilities! Love the palm trees in the middle and how the creek leads your eye through the image.
I agree with Larry about the B&W conversion. I would add that there are halos along the tree line on the right and in the middle distance. This often comes from over sharpening. |

Thanks Larry for your helpful critique! I usually use a GND filter for my landscapes. Perhaps I just neglected to do that on this one. I kept working the saturation to make the sky more interesting, but in the process introduced some weird colors. OK, I will learn from this! |
