Alan,
In effect this is a still light of a number of very ineresting soda bottles! You positioned them perfectly! The montage of colors is great too! Whatever you did with the lighting, it worked really well. I keep staring at the back bottles and to my eye, which isn't the best, some of the bottles in the back row look less than sharp. You might run them through topax AI Sharpen. |

Jo-Ann,
This image has a kind of mood to it that is appealing. A drak ally and the oldest house in the town. The lighting on the door is spot on. I'm confused, however, by the red glow on the door to the left of the oldest door. Given how dark the scene is, the red should not be that bright. |

Sylvia, I really like how you caught the sunburst through the trees on the far side of the lake. The sky is quite nice too. Too bad you did not have any clouds to pick up the colors of the sunset. I'm of a mixed mind about the tree on the left. My first impression was that it took up too much of the picture space, but then I read your description of what it meant to you. The point of art after all is to establish an emotional connection with our surroundings. Well done. |

Stuart,
Thanks for taking the time to work on my image. I used some of those same tools, but I like your results better! |

Bud,
Great action shot! I would not have guessed that this was a young bird testing out his wings. It looks like a bird landing in the nest. No matter, a great capture. I'd just reduce the highlights on the branches on the right. |

Richard,
This bird wandered up my way last spring. I live in northern VA. It was all the rage among photographers and birders. I did not see it - sigh! I think you nailed it on the denoising and cropping. The composition is dea on as well. |

Larry,
I think we are all looking forward to future installments of "the adventures of Boris!" Both shots are terrific. I like the side view of the owl eating the toad. You shot it a a shallow DOF that works great. I might have darkened the background a bit, but otherwise it's a great shot. |

What great moment. I also saw mountain goats up close at Logan's Pass in Glacier NP. My shots weren't this good! I wish that the two kids were a little shaper. What f stop did you use? |

Cindy,
Bravo for trying to take shots of the MW! I did this a few years ago in Death Valley where the sky was super clear and we were away from city lights. Seems like the trick is the nail the MW, but to also have an interesting foreground. As others have said, the foreground cannot take over the shot. The shine off the rocks on the bottom is distracting as is the white branch on the right. |

Michael,
Great capture on your first kayak adventure. I haven't had the courage to take my big boy camera on a kayak. I don't want it to get wet! I think you did a great jjob getting the exposure under control. My issue with the shot is that the otters all merge together. When I first saw the image I couldn't figure out what I was seeing until I read your description. Then I could pick out two, maybe three otters. |

Looks like the voters are coming in for the animal tracks. Not sure what kind of animal made the tracks. What fascinated me aboiut them was that you could make a story in your mind about tow animals walking together and then going their separate ways or tow animals coming to the frozen river and joining forces. |

Thanks for your insight Larry. Ok so you think I should crop out the large "footprint" in the upper right?
Btw you published the original but not the edited version. Please punish the edited version with the original in the smaller space to the right. Thanks. |
