I agree with you and the other commenters that the lighting was a problem. Since you plan to go back, perhspa shoot the wcene at dawn or dusk? I would also shoot it at a slow shutter speed (1/5 sec) to blur the water. Try moving off to the right and let the waterfall act as a leading line to the mill. Finally, I'm not sure what is in the window of the mill, but a shot of just the window with its reflections would be pretty cool. |

What a terrific building to shoot! The issues I see are that the old and the new are competing with each other. You have the mosque with skyscrapers in the background. You could of course clone them out in PS. I can't see how you could have taken the pic without them in it. Also the guideline in architectural photos is to take it dead on symmetrical or deliberately not symmetrical. It looks like you were going for symmetrical, but are off my a hair. |

You have the subject in good lighting coming from our left. You also have him raising an eybrow, which is an interesting gesture.
Areas for improvement. As the otnher commenters have noted, this image is a little soft. Run it through a denoise product like Topaz. The background is also noisy and has some annoying spots on it. These are easy to clean up with LR or PS. |

The flower and dragonfly are terrific! Like most of the other commenters, I would eliminate the 4 bright spots at the top and either eliminate the green at the top or burn them down and desaturate the,. |

Great job in separating the subject from th4e background. I'm really drawn to the "eye" on the wing.
My only drawback is that the two moths merge. Now that is probably because they were mating. |

I'm a huge fan of Jennifer king! This is a beautiful image. Love how the curves lead you through the image and the lighting is terrific!
Suggestions for improvement. Covert to b&w. Crop about 1/10 off the top edge. There is a smal blemish in the sand on the left edge about 1/4 of the way from the left corner. This can easily be removed in lr or ps. |

I agree that michaels crop solves the problem I had with the image. I plan to submit it to my next camera club competition! |

I think we are talking about something that has to do with physics! So how I might address this issue is to take it into topaz denoise or use the denoise funtioin in LR. Try that. |

Bud, I need to find out where this gathering of eagles takes place. My son lives in Portland, so I will add this to my to do list. What a great moment.
Suggestions for Improvement. As Larry noted, it is hard to get the white head and tail in proper exposure. His suggestions for fixing the problem are spot on. I'd crop out the rockls on the botom and the top. They are brigth and distracing. Also, there is a rock right in front of the eagle that seems to merge with the bird. i think it is a rock that is propbably about 5 feet behind the bird, but its location in this photo is distrcting. It looks like the bird is going after the rock. |

Cropping was definitely the way to go to focus our attention on the bird! The bird is very shapr and the backgrouynd is wonderfully blurred.
Suggestions for improvement. Check the small patch below the bird's beak. It seems like an artifact. Also the branch seems overly sharpened and a little too bright for my eye. Fianlly, I'd add some space in front of the bird by going into PS>crop and then grab the slider and pull it outside the fram. This will create a white space. The sleect the white spwace and hit content aware fill. |

What a great moment and very well captured! You have great shaprness on the bird and the gator! I'm especially impressed with the level of detail you got on the bird. A white bird is hard to photograph. The camera's sensor has triuble reading the correct exposure for bright white against a dark background. Well done! |

Jason, this is a shot I have been trying to add to my portfolio! Kudos to you!! Love the vapor coing out of the beak!
Suggestions for improvement: The background while beautifully soft is awfully noisy. Suggest you use someting like LR of Topaz to reduce the noise. Also, I would bring soen the highlights on the reeds. |

B&W was definitely the way to go with this and of course cropping out the snowmobiles was a winner too!
When shooting a group of animals, I look for opportunities when the animals are interacting. The two on the left look like they are about to square off. Maybe wait a few minutes until they do? |

I agree with mots of the other commenters. This is a unique angle. Not sure how you did it, but kudos!
It took me a few seconds to realize what I was looking at, dince the eyes are nearly invisible. It might have worked a little better if the bird had turned his head and given you a profile shot. You might consider blurring out some of the sticks around the burd and cloning some of the sticks at the top. |

Jason, you put your finger on my hesitation about the shot. Does it work even though the legs of the horse in the foreground are cut off? Hmmm |

Larry thanks for your helpful comments. Yes I think I could crop it down some from the top. Good idea. I was concerned that I had clipped the lower legs of the horse on the left, but so far tgat does not seem to have concerned anyone.
Yah psa's Nature category is overly restrictive, so no I woukd never submit this to psa competition. |
