Ah, Havana. The classic, colorful American cars are iconic. How fortunate you were to be in the right place at the right time to capture this scene. Great historic background, too.
It took me a while to notice that both the green and blue vehicles are Taxis. Also, there is evidence of a second yellow car (behind the Blue car) that's made known by the yellow streak of reflection on the side of the green car. (See my submission for this month.)
Well done, Martin. |

Hi Karen
I like the composition very much. It looks like you had fun arranging this. But, as Piers noted, I agree that the saturation of the colors in the original appear more natural - the orange of the carrots, especially. Glad you were able to add the background to the vacant area on the right.
As a very minor detail, I would have taken the red rubber band off from around the stems of the Radish leaves and "fluffed" those leaves a bit to add more volume to that side. |

Interesting editing, Shirley. I'm not familiar with Topaz filter, but it did indeed create an interesting effect. I like how you created the various shaped panels and slight variations in coloration it amongst the wheel spokes, but thought it created a wonky blue sky at the top that goes to Purple. |

I love finding red foliage - especially when it's backlit. It's so much more prominent in the fall. You've done a nice job of bring up the shadows in the darker leaves. It must have been a tedious job with individual leaves but looks like it was worth the effort. |

Thanks for your comments, Piers. I appreciate your assessment of the image. I also agree about the need for further editing to bring up the shadows in the front(s). So, on that suggestion....
I created a mask using a brush and "painted" over the yellow (only) in the reflection and lifted the shadows and exposure. Then, I used the color temperature slider to create a lot more yellow. Better? I think so. |
