Thanks for your comment, Piers. The diagonal line that you referenced was an important consideration when I was cropping. I knew it was an important element and needed to retain it.

High praise from you, Martin. I'm honored.
I love the phrase "both modern and timeless".
Stay tuned for my next submission. |

Thank you, Tor. Glad you like it.
I do plan to get this image printed - sans the door handle. |

Thanks for the wonderful comments, Karen.
When I do get this image printed, the door handle will be removed - that seems to be the consensus. I certainly understand not having a good reference frame for knowing how unique the design of these vehicles are, but that's why I included 2 additional images with the "originals". |

Piers,
Very nice image - colorful, completely in focus (minus the beautiful bokeh of the background) and very interesting shape and texture to the reproductive parts and seed pod.
My most recent expereinces with flower photography has been in the Macro sense, but I really like yours at 500mm. I'll have to expereiment with the longer lens.
The bee adds a nice touch. |

Thank you for your comments Shirley.
This may indeed get printed and perhaps marketed.
I, too, have thought about the (partial) door handle and how to deal with it. I've left it in here to help provide scale and context.
Glad you like it. |

Playing around with Photoshop can sometimes produce interesting "happy accidents". Some are more "controlled" and intentional that others.
I like your efforts while liking Julies edits to create a bit more positive feel to the portrait.
Keep that playinng attitiude! |

Tor,
You're a man after my own photographic heart.
One of the things I like most about photography is how I've learned to see things differently than most people.
I've made many images that are very similar to this - lines/shapes and their shadows.
I love these aspects of your image as well as the bright red and brown. The lines of bolt heads bring another set of lines.
Well done.
Sorry you didn't get your mushrooms, but I think your outing was still a success. |

Well done, Karen.
Looks like you had fun playing with flash lighting. I like the concept and composition. You pulled out the details from the shadows very nicely. The high key background is perfect.
I like it. |

Lucky you! - going after one thing but getting something even bigger and better.
I've learned that night photography has its own set of challenges that tax the novice photographer. You've chosen a good location for viewing the night sky and have included a road/highway with no traffic.
This is wall-worthy!
Well done. |
