Brenda, Thanks for your Input.
It's curious how different people view the same image and give their input and suggestions on what they felt the image needs in order to improve it. The reworked image I. The comments suggested the yellow in the closest yellow leaf, be " more yellow".
I made that change -only dealing with yellow on that specific leaf (only) , and I must have overdone it to your liking. How do you like the yellow in the original ? |

Martin. Great capture. I've done similar over the years. This is interesting because of the "spray" of debris (in certain it's not live ammunition) emmanating from the blast cloud.
Well done. |

Karen, What a great in-the-moment capture.
Since you're wanting (ie., needing) to highlight the birds antics, I'll suggest a tighter crop in from the right, then bring up saturation slightly to accentuate the colorful nature of this "Little Blue". |

Shirley,
I love "seeing" reflections in glass buildings. The contrast between the old and the new architecture is always fun, especially when there is reflection. This is an image I would likely have taken, too if I was there.
You've brought out the blues very nicely.
Well done. |

Piers. Great image and BW treatment.
I like how you removed the distracting non-period background.
There are still distractions that capture the eye that, in my mind, could be toned down in order to have an easier image to view:
the reflection of highlights of an adjacent vehicle in the rear window;
the white stripes at the very bottom of the lady's dress;
and the remnant of the building that, visually, meets the gentleman's right cheek (plus the chain link fence).
Overall, I like the image, and concept. |

Piers, Thanks for your comments. This specific image has been such a great learning experience for me. I've truly enjoyed it.
Per your suggestion, I went back into Lightroom Classic to adjust the first yellow leaf and add an overall slight vignette (-12). Is this closer to ideal? |

Hi Karen,
I've heard about the in-camera focus-stacking versions, but mine does not have that. Nice option to have for those tricky depth of field scenarios.
Thank you for your comments. Focus Stacking is a fun thing to learn. |

Shirley, The Canon 24-105 "L" series lens is not a macro lens. It's a 24-105mm zoom. The "L" indicates it's built to a "professional" standard.
Thanks for your comments. |
