Shirley, I do like the revised/straightened version better. Now, I feel, it's even more of a WOW image. I just love that geometry and texture. the post-production processing really accents the intent of the design.
I've never had any reason to want to go to Hot Springs, AR before, but I do now. (I'm smiling).
Well done. |

Great character study, Martin. You certainly did find good fortune with the natural lighting.
You are a master at post processing. The tones and textures truly benefit the character of the subject.
The beams and ceiling that still exist behind his head are still slight distractions from an otherwise great capture and processing. Well done. |

Very nice capture, Jaqueline. I know it's a challenge with these little guys.
I have a friend who is RABID about photographing Hummers. He has an area set up in his yard that's full of flowers to lure these beauties into his specific area where he has multiple flashes set up the eliminate shadows and capture as much wing motion as he chooses. He sits in a portable photo- blind to avoid distracting the birds. This type of photography might be more than you chose to do, but the lack of good light on your side of this bird is the only criticism I have for an otherwise great capture. Well done. |

WOW!
Like Martin, I, too had to do a bit of research on this magnificent building. The architecture is visually stunning and allows a coordination and collaboration of textures from both the interior and exterior. I would love to see it in person.
I like both the color as well as the stylized BW iteration.
My very first impression of the stylized image is that the perspective of the verticals at both edges could have (and should have, in my opinion) been made vertical. The software can do that.
I LOVE this image, though. Well done.

Jaqueline, This image was made with intentionality. I've become much more aware of that mindset as I grow in my photographic journey. So glad you like it.
I look forward to seeing some of your images from this region. It's incredible. |

Martin, I like the way you used the term "tease out the colours".
I asked a friend of mine, who also is involved in PSA in a different study group, to view this image and respond with her opinion(s). She made the comment that for this being taken in one of the harshest environments on earth, I made this look like a Hawaiian sunset. She thought I had brought out too much colour where there was none.
Personally, I like it and am pleased that you like it, too. |

Thanks for your comments, Shirley. Glad you like the image. I tried to make the horizon horizontal, but may still be off a degree or so.
My next edit of this image will be to crop a little off the top and in from the left. |
