2 Oct 22 Comment Karen, I was over at a photo-friend's house last weekend to do a conceptual still life. What you've done is much more interesting than what we produced. I like yours very much.
Like others have already pointed out, the candle flame is a bit too close to the "floral" arrangement, as I actually cringed at first viewing. Giving the arrangement a bit more space would help me breathe easier. Also, lightening up the beautiful candle holder with the window light or your cube, will help make this more of a story. I LOVE the burlap table covering. It adds a great deal to the theme. Well Done!

I LOVE spiral staircases; I LOVE trying to photograph them. This is a stunning capture, especially considering your circumstances. Since I arrived late to your posting, others have, masterfully, defined issue needing addressed to gain additional favor.
VERY well done!

2 Oct 22 Reply Piers, Thank you - and everyone else - for the comments on my image. It seems this submission needs a lot of work to even be palatable to the discerning viewer. That's what I like about this "PSA Study Group" concept.
This image was taken near the summer solstice, so long amounts of daylight and Blue hour, so the Courthouse clock is correct.

Photo Pills is a very powerful app that, I agree, is complicated to learn all that it can do. However, I have subscribed to their online newsletter (info@photopills.com) and regularly, the primary developer for this App, Raphael, will do a video tutorial on a specific "how-to". A regular subscriber can learn a great deal from these. I suggest that.
I still have a lot to learn.

2 Oct 22 Comment Martin, it certainly looks like you have fun with your conceptual photography. Well Done!
I hadn't noticed the car "headlights" reflection in your sunglasses until looking at the image after you referenced it.
The only thing missing is smoke from the realistic looking cigarette.

2 Oct 22 Comment VERY well done, Shirley. The Topaz AI did a wonderful job. The feathers and details are stunning even after the crop. The separation of the Hummingbird from the branch it's perched on - as well as the resto of the background - works very well. Oct 2nd

Well done. Bird photography is an entirely different "animal" - pun intended - in the world of photography. I've gotten involved (and invested) in it recently since we now winter in SW Florida - SO sad about the Hurricane damage to the region that includes the distinct habitats that allow these types of birds to thrive.
Also, later this month, I'm getting ready to travel to Patagonia and Antarctica on a Birding expedition/Cruise.
I love how these birds appear to put on magical display for us, when all they're trying to do is survive by doing what comes naturally to them.
It sounds as though you did a lot of post-production work on this image.
It has paid off well. Congratulations.
