Jaqueline, Thanks for your giddy comments.
I' certainly have a lot to play around with regarding the lights and darks.
Referencing your concern about the "end of the design" that was left out, one of the supplementary images I included - Original 2 - shows a slightly different view of the glass domed ceiling which includes the end in question. That was due to the maximum extent, my widest view possible with the lens, I had with me at the time. I had a wider lens with me in the car, but was not allowed to carry anything other than the camera - no backpacks or other baggage.
I hope you get to see this Museum someday. |

Karen, I'm planning on going to the Alligator Farm either Monday or Tuesday (unless my wife and our friend - who lives in St Augustine - have other plans for me). I also love walking around the downtown area with the camera.
I am registered for 3 events at the Birding fest on Wednesday (only): 6:30 am Boat outing, 11:00 lecture w/ Lisa Langell, and the 3pm Keynote speaker
If you are interested in meeting up on any of those days, give me a call. 260-416-6000. I'd love to meet you in person. |

This is a WOW image, Martin.
Well Done!
NZ is on my bucket list, too. Ideally, 2 weeks on the north Island, 2 weeks on the South.
Great effort with the background replacement, but like Karen pointed out, the transition is too stark. |

Jaqueline, Like the others, I would like to know where this very handsome lighthouse is located. It looks New England-"ish" with the very heavy rocks forming a wall. I LOVE your effort in working towards getting a composition that works. I would truly LOVE this entire image if the heavy wooden gates were not cluttered with signage.
I held a piece of paper up my monitor to cropped out the RH 1/3 of the image to eliminate the gates and clutter. The resulting image is much more center-weighted and, again, a very handsome scene. |

Karen, This is the kind of scene that I love coming across. Good for you for finding it!!!
I love the diagonals and rustic nature of the buildings. I was a bit disappointed as the lines led my eye to the pontoon boat at the right end. That brought me back to current times, while the rest of the scene is "vintage". That's a contradiction that (to me) distracts from the overall feel you're trying to convey. The Grunge look could work better if the pontoon boat were not present. |

I like the dogs-eye-view of these flowers. Well Done.
As others have referenced, the white background is distracting, but the two edits done previously are, in my mind, excessive. I feel that a slight darkening, lowering the whites and highlights, would lead to a more natural look. |

Like others have pointed out, the adjacent bud either needs to be lightened - to better represent the coming of the next flower - or eliminate it. The shape is inconsistent with all other water-based leaves.
I like your comment about composition for impact vs creative potential. Very true! |

Thanks for the comments, Karen.
The three accompanying photos are supplemental - not intended to be a composite for the final image being displayed. They are just included to attempt to convey the amazing nature of this building.
I'll be up in St Augustine starting Saturday night, but leaving Thursday. Going to do 1 day (Wednesday only) of the Birding Festival. Are you going? |

Hello, Stuart.
Thank you for your comment.
As an explanation as to why it's as light as it is, and why I did a 3 shot HDR, was to bring up the shadows. With the exception of the blue sky, everything in this image is White - by design. I was trying to remain faithful to the essence of the building. |
