Martin,
This is another fun image, a grab-shot in the moment.
You did well to crop on the left to eliminate the major pole, while still capturing the essence of the road signage, which truly adds to the story. Keeping more sky might have made a slight difference, but the man on his "Gopher" is priceless. |

Hi Karen,
I'm betting this was shot at the Alligator Farm in St. Augustine. I finally made it there for the first time in early March.
This is a fun image to view. It's not intended to be a fine-art image. Like others have stated, it's more like street art - observing others who are observing the birds. I love it! |

Hung,
I agree with Martin. The building is more dominant than the Pelican. Martins severe crop removes the sense of being in a neighborhood, instead of being along a coastline.
The Pelican is VERY well captured, so congratulations on that. |

Shirley,
Forgive my being late to the party this month, but it has been a busy month for me.
Like most others, I, too LOVE Arches Ntl. Park. This is eactly the type of image that I would take - and probably have. I love being able to get the Starburst effect - specially if it's just above, or just below an arch.
Your image, and post processing, has brought out the best of the rock! Well done! |

Piers,
Forgive my being late to the party this month, but it has been a busy month for me.
My initial, split-second view of the image presented was filled with interest; I loved the colors and the main, central arch and colomns. But, as soon as my eye was drawn to the metal picnic tables, my interest was deflated. I was expecting something more "exotic" or formal.
I like what you did with your "post" processes from the original, and if the subject matter on the foreground was different, this could be a stunner.
Kudos on the efforts in Post processing, |
