2 Jan 21 Comment Jaqueline, I like what you are trying to do. However, my editing skills with what you are trying to do are not very strong - yet, so I cannot offer any suggestions. I love expererimenting on what all can be done to manipulate images. Jan 31st
2 Jan 21 Comment Piers, This image looks like one I would definately take. I love the timeing that includes the beautiful end-of-day light. The lights on the dam create a nice leading line. I also love how we, as photographic artsits, can accentuate the colors and manipulate and crop to a more favorable end result. The original image, I feel, was too heavily weighted on the LH side and the main horizon line was centered. The suggested crops, I feel, made for a stronger image.
Isn't that what these groups are for?

2 Jan 21 Comment My wife and I were wanting to drive the Blue Ridge parkway this past fall - just to get out and go somewhere - but common sense made us realize that it just was not a good idea at the time. Maybe this spring after the vaccine arrives.
This is certainly an image that I would try to capture, too. I love refelctions and the rustic nature of the scene. The cropped 1:1 improves the image, in part, beacuse some of the "past-their-prime" blossoms are eliminated in the foreground.

2 Jan 21 Comment I, too, like playing around with differnt effects, but I feel that the original image has a feel of calmness and serenity that is not there with the textured background.
The Orange petals against the gray background is wonderful.

2 Jan 21 Reply Hi Shirley,
I fully agree that switching the orienntation of the truck leads the eye better that the "original.
I love coming across these types of scenes. I would have a field day with this truck with all the coloration and shapes.
After capturing the essence of the scene as you have, I'd probably continue and try to create some abstracts that include barely recognizable shapes with all the fading colors.
