Nice 2014 photo!
Agree with everything already said by the others.
BTW, for the last two years I've also been shooting mirrorless only...I have two Sony Alpha 1's. |

I'm not particularly knowledgeable about landscape photography but this is a beautiful shot! |

It's hard for me to be objective about a photo of a Green Heron, as they are my favorite bird in the world!
I've photographed them many times but never in a pose like this....great catch!

Great bird!
My only suggestion is that the lighting seems a bit harsh...perhaps reducing the contrast in Lightroom would assist this a bit. |

I share everyone's concern for the poor bird.
Kingfishers are SO hard to capture; you did an amazing job. Well done. |

I like that you've portrayed nature as it actually happened.
Since you didn't mention it, I'm assuming you didn't use a flash? |

Thank you, Leslie....definitely a male; we saw him and his brother several times; sometimes with full bellies and sometimes on the hunt. They ambushed several Zebra right in front of us and just barely failed in their attempt for a kill (My wife has this on video). We had numerous amazing animal encounters in South Africa and I'm sure I'll be posting more photos of them in the coming months. |
