Amazing bird with beautiful clarity!
You're much more expert with this than I am but you might consider darkening and/or blurring the background a bit. |

Really great bird; very colorful, love the textures.
Would be even better if the background wasn't as busy (I know how hard that can be!) and perhaps de-shadowing or adding a little exposure to the bird's eye. |

In my opinion, a near-perfect reflection shot!
Only quibble; it looks that you are shooting down on the bird rather than being at eye level; of course, the terrain may not have allowed you to get any lower.
A very pleasing photograph. |

In my experience, Sandhill Cranes almost seem to soak up the light; they are difficult birds to photograph with the correct exposure.
Good on you for being brave enough to try and post something out of your comfort zone. |

Background is not particularly clean, but otherwise a great shot....I also like seeing the animal as a part of its environment as others have mentioned. |

Somehow, the incorrect description was posted for this photo; the correct description is below....hopefully this will clear up any confusion,
These Galapagos Lava Lizards are only about 6-7 inches long, but they can be aggressive and territorial. These two lizards were fighting over territory on the red volcanic sand beach of Rabida Island, Galapagos Islands, Ecuador.

Very sharp eyes, Sherry! :)
I believe that the artifact is actually a side view of the lizard's tongue...but I might be wrong.
Thanks for your kind words about the rest of the photo! |
