67 Feb 24 Comment Thanks all. I was kneeling when I looked up into his eyes. It took my breath away. Spiritual moment! Feb 17th
67 Feb 24 Reply Thanks, Cindy. There were more photographers there than wolves, but a ranger controlled it well. For the first time in my life, wolves were not bothered by being close to people. I believe the draw of the bison carcass overcame their normal reticence. I saw many Facebook photos from others there at the time. I would have much preferred to have been there alone, but at least I was there and got my major bucket list shots (and many of them). Feb 17th
67 Feb 24 Comment It's all my fault... 🤣

67 Feb 24 Comment Thanks, Richard. I do, too. ;-) Feb 17th
67 Feb 24 Reply I was there with a NANPA group 1/24-26. I have been trying to photograph wolves in Yellowstone since they were released there in 1995. I've only seen them at a distance in the Lamar Valley through spotting scopes before, too. I was amazed that the pack returned to the carcass on our first day and continued through the morning of our third day. I was able to get all the photos I ever wanted of many different activities and poses. I'm ready for the Lord to take me because I filled a major bucket list item there. Feb 13th
67 Feb 24 Comment Hi David - This photo does tell that story to me, although, at first, I wasn't sure if I was looking at lava or a pothole in the asphalt. Funny, I still have the RX-10. It is a great travel photo camera. I've taken it all over the world when I didn't want to carry all the serious gear and have been so pleased with the results its 24-600mm f/4 Zeiss lens produces. 67 Feb 24 Comment Richard - The male is slightly soft, so a higher shutter speed might have been helpful. You have taken many photos more interesting than this one. Feb 13th
67 Feb 24 Comment Larry: Gorgeous light on two tack-sharp birds with a beautifully blurred background. Who could ask for more? Feb 13th
67 Feb 24 Comment Hi Cindy:
That was quite a trip. I can feel the cold as I look at your photo. I love the detail, but I would crop to remove the black rock outcropping on the right side of the photo. To me, it's distracting and doesn't add to the scene. The story is about the tiny penguins against the massive mountains in the extreme cold. Do that, and I think you've nailed it.

67 Feb 24 Comment Yellow-rumped Warbler. Welcome to the top-notch gear world! That's a great combo, as you found here. Love the feather detail. Interesting crop. I like not putting the bird in the center, but I might have moved it closer to the center and lined it up with the left â…“ vertical line. Still, that's a minor nit. Have fun with your new Z9. I love mine! Feb 13th
67 Feb 24 Comment Michael - I love the image and the feather detail. The Z400 f/4.5 has become my "go to" lens for photo trips now. Looking forward to seeing more of your trip photos! Feb 13th
