Hi David - I loved the heron, setting, composition, and colors. I think my old eyes are failing. Even with my new Rx, the photo looks out of focus. |

I always hate writing after Larry. Great composition. The first thing that caught my eye was the brilliant diagonal leading up to the bird and its outstretched wings. Perfect execution! |

Susan - Great bird, great feather detail, great color, great eye, great lore; it just looks like someone sat on her to flatten her down. She is spring-loaded to extend, and I'm waiting for her to go upwards. Still, a beautiful bird. Nice capture. The D850 and 300mm f/4 are a great combo! |

Yep, ha, ha. I really like your finished version, Michael. It's a great capture and everything about it is just fine. You shouldn't have included the other... 😉 |

Larry: I confess I had to look hard to find the subject of your photo. It reminded me of a Navy SEAL approach and probably would have had the same outcome had you stayed around. Even though small, they have pretty sharp teeth that would put a good tear in your leg, trying to drag you back to the water. I learned playing golf in Florida not to pursue errant golf balls into water hazards for the same reason. The best photographs always tell a story, and yours speaks volumes. Well done. |
